DEATH COMES TO US ALL AND SO... WE MUST LIVE.- Prayer of the Death cultist.

A Scene From Sandman: The High Cost of Living Death Speaks to Her Incarnation

Hyperborean Radio (Uncensored)

What is a Death Cultist?

"Why Dying is one of the easiest things you'll ever do. Now Living... that is the real trick!"

What comes after death? What Arcane Mysteries populate the netherworld? None of this concerns the Death Cultist, on the contrary the domain of the Death Cultist is the living as the dead no longer care.

The Death Cultist revels and wonders at all the bits of life, the morning bird song, a foggy days taste of coffee, time with loved ones, an annoying tune that never leaves your head your toe tapping to the song!
LIFE and LIVING! That is the domain of the Death Cultist! Not merely surviving but thriving to live in a cage of steel or of lies is not living at all!

Life is a gift and the Death Cultist will not waste it, they will crack a joke and fight with reckless abandon for all they love and care for. Life is what they value, every choice to do or not do matters. When the curtain falls back Death will welcome you with her soft smile and gentle embrace.

What comes after?

"What a Silly Question" Says the Death Cultist. We will find out when it is our time to find out.

To live for the living though, now that is important. "From whence we came to where we return" this is all one needs to know.
This does not mean to live without thought or consequence. No, no, no. Indeed it means quite the opposite! Everything one does or does not do matters more than we can know, what's done can never be undone, what wasn't done can never be changed. Life is constantly renewed, even the ancient and old with the weight of the years on their shoulders change constantly.

What mark will you leave? Whose life do you touch? Will you be the Hero or the Villain? Even if you are forgot but lived well then it was a life that mattered and changed the world but did it change the world for the better?

These are the things that truly matter.

In Loving Memory

Grief comes to us all, this is true. Tears are shed, the keening will be keened and the wailing of loss and pain will be had, this is the nature of loss.

But the Death Cultist rarely grieves for the dead except with rare exception. The dead, they are on to the next grand adventure whatever that might be. No, he grieves for the living, their pain, their loss.

So it is to those that live on despite their loss to which the Death Cultist will turn his attention. He is the first to crack a joke to liven up a funeral, he will declare the great deeds of the dead, their embarrassing quirks, that annoying whistle they did, the time the tree gave them a wedgie, the time they fought twenty men or won the heart of their beloved. They will remind people of the life they lived emboldening them with memories of the good, the bad, the embarrassing and the heroic, the funny times and the worst of times.

Because a life lived is a valuable thing and its tale must be told.

Birth and Death

New life! A time of celebration!

All of the potential, hope and vibrancy of life wrapped up in such a small delicate package to be protected and nurtured so that it might bloom in the full glory of life with all of its power and mystery. Then, as if that were not enough perhaps this new life is the return of one who once lived! Oh The Excitement! Only time will tell! Let us watch as they grow and mature!
The Death Cultist does not reserve their excitement only for the new life of man alone but also animals, plants, rivers and all things living!

While a Mountain may crumble to sand, we know sand is the building blocks of mountains.

Love & Loss

To love and laugh and in the end enduring the pain of loss. Such things are the most exquisite of delights to the Death Cultist! To experience the fullness of life and all it has to offer.

Both the wonderful and the dreadful, to live without regret, to live without cruelty, to give far more than we receive. Relishing in this fleeting life because this moment as short as it may seem is OURS! Ours to Share! Ours to Give! Ours to Remember! All of it's pain all of its joys, all of it is ours, no one may take it from us our scars are ours! Our Hopes and dreams! Our sorrows and Wishes! From despair to delight all of it in its fullness and when our Swan Song is sung may we make it a good one, holding the one we love tightly, fighting furiously on a battlefield held up by the number of spears in our chest and when we go may we go with a smile.

Remember me for I have not gone from this world without leaving a mark upon the souls of those who knew me well.

Death is my Mistress

Death come'eth, I am her herald.

Of course one of the most popular Domains of the Death Cultist is on the field of battle.
While this is true things are not what they may seem.
The Death Cultist does not fear death nor will he throw his life away needlessly, so to face the Death Cultist on the field of battle is to face Death herself. He is ruthless, merciless, fear will not take hold of him, to allow it to do so would be to insult and discard his life and all the lives he so treasures.

The Death cultist is cold and calculating, he is bold and seemingly reckless. Determined and unswayable in his conviction, he might be found laughing gayly in the heat of battle or mourning the lives he is taking even as he takes them. He wears his heart upon his sleeve daring anyone to touch it. Alive in the moment determined to survive the conflict before him even if he need eliminate all who stand before him. Without mercy or regret, euphoric in life to the last.

What is an Animist Cultist?

The Domain of the Animist is the Domain of Soul & Spirit, the unseen and the seen. That part of the world we all know is there but with which our senses cannot fully register. The Tree that radiates love and youthful dreams, the house that seems to creak with the sadness of centuries of tragedy and pain. This Soul of places, inanimate objects and yes even living things are what the Animist may look to.

It has nothing to do with black candles, gilded crosses, magic spells, vapid prayers or shooing away spirits. Just as with living things souls must heal; a home may need tender care, a place that emanates a feeling of rest and healing may need healing of its own. A place filled with fear, despair, torment, torture and slaughter may require more than one can muster to help it.

We all know the domain of the soul is important, that it requires "food" and "care" as much as any other piece of the realm, without it begins a cacophony of pain.

Soul of Place

Have you ever encountered that well. It is old, sturdy, still in good condition, obviously functional but it just seemed tired and sad?
You don't know why but it just did.
Like it was lonely.
So then you stopped.
Maybe leaned against the well and just talked to yourself... and to the well by proxy. Maybe ended up taking an accidental nap. But then when you awoke everything seemed just a little happier, a little brighter. You did nothing special but take a little time to keep an old well company and you felt better about it too.

The "Soul" of a place like the soul of all living things require companionship, care and acknowledgement. Just as with living things witnessing horrific acts can cause lasting scarring. What's worse is when the spirit may be blamed for causing such horrid acts and attempts to "cast out" the "evil spirit" is made for witnessing acts of evil it was unable to stop.
How long would you stay sane?

Soul of a People

There are many words used for the Soul of a people Group Spirit, Folk Soul, Blood Memory and Biospirit to name a few. The Soul of a People that permeates all of them, affects and is affected by each of them, in turn affecting all of them.
A wave of dread and frenzy that seems to spread across the whole of a people, the scars of tragedies and ages of pain weighing them down, memories of time long past where one tumbled into the heather or watched their loved ones freeze to death babe in hand, on and on together they are all connected.
It is this spirit that holds the hopes and dreams of a people but also the weight of their pain. If the Soul is not given a chance to heal then all else is for naught, the mind will not heal, the body will not heal, nor the emotions if the Soul is crying out in pain. We must heal this Soul, this is the duty of the Animist to heal this, to remind us who we are beyond what we can see.

Magic All Around Us

Magic is not fireballs, it is not lightning from ones fingertips and arcane spells. No magic is all around us emanating a Soul of beauty and wonder.
Magic is in every breath, it is The mighty oak that grows from a tiny acorn, the birth of a babe as they open their eyes to a new world, the sunbeams in the sky and the way time seems to freeze when your world forever changes for good or bad. We can feel the changes, the magic in the air, it is all around us.

One simply needs to remember to see it.

A Child's Faerie Magic

Remember.

Remember what it was like crossing the seven seas, climbing the beanstalk, fighting dragons and landing on the moon. We've all done it in the magical Land of Backyard or The Kingdom of Sidewalk. Often we would find a world beyond our own, the way to the elves dancing in the moonlight, gnomes collecting pebbles, we would have tea with Mr. Bear in our own Hundred Acre Wood.

Then we grew up. We were told it was nonsense that none of it existed it was all children's dreams and silly ideas... And we believed them.

But across the room from our tired and jaded parents, the weight of the world hanging from their pupils. Grandmother smiles waiting for them to leave the room, she pulls you close telling you the truth. It is all real.

The old know from experience what the Young know instinctively. The Magic we see is real. Children with their hearts open and full of joy make it real with their special kind of Faerie Magic.

Time

The ultimate gift. The medicine required to heal. The weight and measure of life. The time spent and attention given, the only things of true value.
All of the magic potions or intricately drawn runes nor complex rituals could hope to replace or even come close to matching the raw power of true care and time patiently given. The Animist knows there are no shortcuts nor seeks them.
This is where the Animist Cultists true power lies. Time. They patiently spend the time required, they do not rely on empty ceremony. No, indeed they give of themselves freely to nature, animals, homes and their people. Time to understand, time to listen, time to comfort, time to bolster, time to encourage. Time to heal.
The Animist Cultist does not try to drive out or protect against evil spirits because they are not evil. Scared, hurt, angry, lonely, sad yes but not evil. So they patiently perform their magic, healing the spirit or allowing it to pass on as all things must.
