Holle Bringer of Sunlight
Frau Holle is often associated with Sunshine in some form, in her most famous tale recorded by the Grimm Brothers, Frau Holle employs the sisters Goldmary and Pitchmary as her maidservants, rewarding Goldmary with a shower of Gold Dust that makes her shimmer like the sun, while the lazy Pitchmary was punished for her sloth with a bucket of Pitch (Darkness).
These two "Marys" are vestiges of goddesses of the Sun and Moon perhaps Sunna and Sinthgunt or the Wendish gods Yr and Om, both of whom are also tied to Holle via a Vogtland Marian altar of Holle connected to Yr and Om.
On Walpurgisnacht a marriage of Holle's atop the Brocken begins the Summer Season, as she is one of the deities who fulfill the role of May Queen, on May 2nd she sits on the Frau Holle Chair where her golden curls shine like the sun exclaiming "This is my Morning Gift", despite often called a Snow Goddess, Holle adores Sunny Summer Days, and is said to do her spinning then.-TLK

How and Why do you do the things you do?
If someone were to ask you what kind of pagan are you? Most would probably answer along the lines of "Norse" or "Celtic" perhaps "Slavic" or "Roman", the edgy teens among you may say "Viking" or "Satanist" or even "Occultist" these answers really mean nothing though. If you are doing Hyperborean Ethnic Faith correctly I already assume you are following the gods of your ancestral tribe, the region you are from matters not to me. But really among a single deity from a single region the traditions, values, and meanings are myriad. A regions paganism isn't a package deal being a Greek Pagan doesn't mean you venerate every god of the pantheon, nor does it in Norse, these aren't a package deal.
So the real question is What do you value? How and why do you do the things you do? If you are living life correctly the answer to the question should actually change several times throughout your life. So please be honest, not for our sake but for yours. Which "Cult" or way of being defines how you continue "The Old Ways". In your heart of hearts, in your very core, what kind of pagan are you?

The Cults of Hyperborea
It is exciting to say the poll yesterday had some interesting results and we would like to thank everyone who participated. As we are sure you are aware there are far more cults than we mentioned but that aside it should be noted now that the various cults are not necessarily what they might seem to be at first glance.
We at Hyperborean Radio decided to do this poll because we asked ourselves this very same question discovering such interesting answers and insights after much introspection and more than a little debate.
Afterwards we thought it would be something that may help people who follow Hyperborean Ethnic Faith and so here we are; sharing our thoughts and hopefully stimulating much engagement amongst our people not only concerning the knowledge of who we are on an individual level but on the whole of the Hyperborean tribes. Such questions are important because simply put there is a big difference between being a Fertility cultist who follows ancestral gods, and simply an "Insert God" or "Insert Region" pagan.
It seems with the poll from yesterday Ancestor Cultist was the clear popular vote but one wonders if this would change with a more widespread understanding of who we are as a people, the modern world discouraging introspection arguing that everyone is broken. This is not the case.
We are not broken. We are taught not to see who we are.
Here at Hyperborean Radio we look forward to exploring the concept of these various cults and their importance and role for our people with you. It is important to note that in a lifetime no one could hope to cover the entirety of even one of these cults let alone 10 of them.
So we shall do our best to introduce each of these 10 in a way that allows people to truly see it in their everyday life, because these ways of being are a part of who we are. Only the death of our people could rid the world of them. In reality most of us are probably part of each of these cults and more to some extent in how we live our lives but we all have a primary.
So join us as we explore WHO. WE. ARE. What is your true role in society? What is your approach to life? What do you have to offer your people, your family, your friends? What makes you... YOU?
With our exploration into what makes the various cults what they are we hope all of us can come to a deeper understanding of who we are as individuals and as a unique people of the world.
For now we plan to go over each and every one of these 10 cults starting on the 9th of The May.

Strawberry Gods
Among the most Sacred Fruits of Hyperborea is the humble Strawberry. A delightful treat on hot summer days it is even beloved by gods and spirits, why in Norse Folklore Frigg adores strawberries gifting them to the souls of children and it is even said she places them sweetly in strawberries to ascend to the halls of the ancestors.
The Strawberries association with sensuality has even made it a favored fruit of many gods sexuality. It is the favorite fruit of Freya and is a symbol of Aphrodite said to have been made when her tears mixed with the blood of her lover Adonis.
Strawberries are also beloved by Elves; in Bavaria, wild strawberries are collected and baskets of them are then tied to the horns of cattle as thanks to the elves for their gifts of calves and plentiful milk. Of course this causes the cattle to be very sad due to the food being just out of reach, though I'm sure many wild strawberries are planted as a result.
After the coming of the church these symbols of the deities were appropriated by The Virgin Mary and also became symbolic of Decency and Purity resulting in the Strawberry being carved and painted on many a medieval Marian altar.
This tradition of the Sacral Strawberry continues to this day, embodied in Strawberry Shortcake, a beloved character for the young girls of our lands.-TLK

The Hyperborean Sol
If you've been following for us for awhile you may have seen this symbol before. It is a symbol that is near and dear to our hearts here at Hyperborean Radio. It may seem cliché but it "came to me in a dream" (TLK) and our Friend Aethelwulf made it a reality.
It is the Solar Cross, an ancient symbol of our people since the Long... Long Ago. Around it are the 4 totem animals of our group The Wylder Folk, who together work towards our goals: The Wolf, The Stag, The Man and The Bear. The two dots in the middle are.... I actually am not sure. As weird as it may sound that specific solar cross came to me in a dream. Imagine my surprise that it was a real solar cross.
Usually I don't share personal things too much on here but this symbol is important to me, to us and well... I wanted to share it with you. Thank you for all the support we receive, for all the kindness we've felt, Thank You.-TWF
