Many factors have led us to this conclusion, but before speaking about those I wish to thank all of our Patrons and Listeners. We were considering ending after season 5 or coming back for a greatly reduced season depending on how visiting our Patrons went. And it was meeting all these(you) great people on our trip that convinced us to continue on. So for that we thank you.
Between work and illness, this last year has been chaos when it came to getting episodes up on time. We had already considered a schedule change especially as many of our long time fans were falling behind on episodes, and we wished to spend more time actually doing Summertime activities, unlike our time in Michigan which was often consumed with work both the hourly work we did to pay the bills and all we did for Hyperborean Radio.
But after the first 12 Episodes of Season 6, we realized we were in fact on the homeward stretch of the series. It was actually two of our fans who seemed to realize it before we truly internalized it, after episodes 11 and 12 (Ethnicism and Americans) we more or less had a spiritual Series Finale. In the sense that those two episodes felt like the sum of all that we had been building up for, and while we CAN speak about Ethnic Faith and Our People forever, it doesn't mean we should or even that we want to.

When we first began as Hyperborean Radio Ike then called The Antlered One/The Lore Keeper and Jeff then going by the youthful nickname turned Online Username of Celtic God served as the Novice and the Veteran respectively, with Ike being able to translate Jeff's lessons and in-depth conversations from his own growth and experiences. But Ike is no longer a novice and it has become hard to consistently translate our topics into a bite sized conversation that can go deep without being overwhelming.
When we hit Ethnicism/Americans this season it was The End.

Even if we didn't realize it initially.
Our Goal is to finish this season Satisfactorily, to leave this complete and not undone. All things have their time, and perhaps the time is fast approaching for The End of Hyperborean Radio. We hope our many conversations we have been able to share with you have added something to your life, that we have done what we set out to do.
The boon of this Runesmithed Wonderland we call the Internet is also it's bane, that what is here is here forever, or at least, until the web is gone.
Our final episode is not the end of all tales, anymore than a finished novel or complete thesis is the End of their respective stories. It will continue on, perhaps not in new episodes or even specials but in those who hear it and find value in it.
Even now new ears and hearts are finding our old episodes and listening, and we hope listening deeply. Do not let us do your thinking for you, but we hope the time you have and for the time being continue to allot us has widened your horizon, showed you you are not alone, and cast light on the beauty of all that we are.
We have not decided on a final number, perhaps we will be done at 28 or 32, 40 or 64 or even 100? The latter is unlikely. But we are not done just yet, the Epilogue persists until it does not. As Wyrd as it may sound, we will know when we are done. And we will not leave you without a proper farewell.
You are welcome as with all stories, to remain until the end or leave knowing the climax of the story has already occurred.
Thank You For Listening as Long as You Have,
May the Strength and Power of your People Bless You; and May Your Stories Be Told Long After You are Gone.

This doesn't convince anyone on anything. The outfits & silly hats change but it doesn't make this something people would be drawn to.
Pre-Christian Ancestral Roots are incredibly varied, the constructed neo-pagan religions are not that. They are often more shallow than the Folk Christian customs that are still practiced by functionally non-denominational Christians. Different statues, different outfits, different silly hats, but where is the fundamental difference, the actual improvement. The inability to make that argument is why the Current Pagan movement is doomed to failure.
An ethnic movement may reignite the old ways, by focusing on ones own heritage. But many "Pagans" simply recreate the pattern of the previous religion they came from and thus the inevitable collapse of half measures and anger will lead to stagnation.
Not just nature worship, not just ancestor veneration, it is more. Day by day without a single piece of fancy dress normal people continue forth customs older than any pictured above.

The Old Man of the Mountain
The Prince of Gnomes, The Mountain Lord, Treasure Keeper, Ruler of the Underworld, Old Man of the Mountain, Among Other Names.
RΓΌbezahl he is called, but this is not a name he prefers. He has many epithets but the name he is known by is a story of heartbreak and foolishness he'd rather forget.
He prefers the Prince of Gnomes! For he is the Ruler of the Underworld and its Earthen spirits.
Or Mountain John! For he wanders and lives atop his Mountains, the Giant Mountains! Its King, its Hermit and its Trickster.
He takes many forms a giant, a Woodwose, a Rich Lord, a Dwarf, a Hermit or Monk. He may appear as a Toad, a Goat Rider, a Bear, a Woodcutter or even an Old Lady.
All Mountains are his home and one must be respectful of the Mountain Lord for he is not above delivering lessons in a painful way. Sending people flying across the mountains with a gust of wind, or shattering years worth of work and wealth, the Mountain Fauna are his herds, the Mountain Plants his Garden, keeper of the knowledge of the herbs. While he can be dangerous even deadly he is also known for his kind and romantic side. Falling in love at first sight with the princess who broke his heart, or saving the home and family of a young child with noble spirit via a single flower of pure gold.
He is an ancient god a Lord of Mountains and Storms. He leads the Wild Hunt, he Calls the Storms with his Storm Harp and summons lightning with a wave of his hand, his club a Branch of the Tree of Life.
He gave the people many gifts, the metals and medicine they use everyday, the Spinning Wheel & Sourdough are both inventions of his. He has as always had a soft spot for the little people in their day to day lives.
Those who take advantage of them; the Cruel and the Corrupt, will know his wrath.

One of the things often lost on myself and my American German kinsmen is the sheer complexity of our pre-New World heritage. And that is before we incorporate the even more complex results that is the extrapolating from that into the current American German Cultures.
You had the German Tribes, which led into different warring states, the Franks, Saxons, Holy Roman Empire, Prussia, Minority status in majority non-German Countries, Northern Italy, Austria-Hungary, Germanic areas of France, Eastern Europe, The Volga Germans, Germans who settled the Balkans, Prussia. We've had a rather interesting time of it before our bloodlines touched the soil of North America with plans to stay. I myself have quite a few ancestors from Baden-WΓΌrttemberg, Hessen and neighboring states but I also have ancestors from German Regions of France and Switzerland, Austria and even parts of Prussia that are neither German speaking nor part of Germany anymore. But they were ethnically German... (Part 1/?)

American Germans or as I call them from time to time Usoniandeutsch are a variety of people, you have the Hermanndeutsch in the Missouri Rhineland, the Pennsylvania Dutch in well... Pennsylvania, The Volga Germans when pushed out of Russia after being there for generations emigrated to the Great Plains. You have Appalachian Germans, and Rocky Mountain Swiss, you have those who have ended up as Hoosiers, Buckeyes, Hawkeyes, Tarheels among many others. We have made our indelible mark on this great land. Our folklore, language, cuisine and much more. This is not a betrayal of ancestors of the old country but a carrying forth of their will to the new. The Mountains, Forests and Prairie stripped back all the extra and left what must remain. The "Stamm" or Stem has shifted but we continue forth as the Race "Root". We are still descended of those who fought back the Romans led by Hermann the hero of the Germans, we still dealt with the complexities of the Holy Roman Empire (2/?)

While Germans did assimilate it wasn't until Post WW2 that we began to drop our language and more overt presentation of our own heritage. But the marks stuck many of the most American things are of German Origin, Blue jeans descend from our pants making traditions, Hot Dogs and Hamburgers are German recipes, Pretzels, Beer, even going into the indelible mark we made on the religious landscape with the Amish, Mennonite and other communities which while no longer entirely German Ethnically often not only uphold the German reputation of quality craftsmanship but a unique dialect shaped by this land. It is our Dog Breeds who are often by the side of law enforcement or who fight beside soldiers on the battlefield. If you find yourself on the German side of social media posts of silly pranks, trick shots or homestyle meals and find yourself half surprised they speak German when they look like your Iowan town you may not realize that you grew up surrounded by Germans. Maybe not by country but by blood. (3/?)
