If you applied the same trading philosophy to your life, you could exponentially change it.

Most people can't name one in the last 5 years.

This is Marketing by Seth Godin
i blinked this on Blinkist over a night walk. did not find anything profound, but maybe i'm not ready for the book yet.
main takeaways:
• identifying underlying needs and desires
• look for adopters, not adapters
• align with your tribe's worldview, sell your vision

life changing for me! the storytelling we do are also patterns - patterns we learn from our parents, who learnt from theirs
they taught about the 4 parts of yourself - the quadranity, and it was incredibly helpful to facilitate a convo between my intellect vs my emotional child
from there you can see where narratives are spun from wounds, or shame, or as a way to protect yourself

Ogilvy on Advertising by David Ogilvy
recommended to me by a senior marketer. not everything is applicable given the digital age, but the fundamentals are still good lessons.
main takeaways:
• tons of minor details when creating ads like typography or headline creation
• ads should always be created with the intention of viewers reading alone
• stuff your conscious mind with information, then unhook your rational thought process. this helps to open up your unconscious mind.
• do not kill successful ad campaigns until it has proven to not work anymore. literally MILK and squeeze it dry

fav quotes:
I do not regard advertising as entertainment or an art form, but as a medium of information. When I write an advertisement, I don’t want you to tell me that you find it ‘creative.’ I want you to find it so interesting that you buy the product.
