"Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing. You don't win once in a while... you don't do things right once in a while... you do them right all the time. Winning is habit."

No man will change his old ways for the new, until he personally feels the need for it, that's why great teachers have always urged men to see the awful condition that they are actually in right now, rather than to live by pretty words and non-existent ideals.

found this written in my notebook from 2019 as i was clearing out my room today
The Man In The Glass by Dale Wimbrow

When you get what you want in your struggle for self.
And the world makes you king for a day.
Just go to the mirror and look at yourself,
and see what that man has to say.

For it isn't your father, or mother, or wife.
Whose judgment upon you must pass.
The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life,
is the one staring back from the glass.

He's the fellow to please nevermind all the rest.
For he's with you, clear to the end.
And you've passed your most difficult, dangerous test,
if the man in the glass is your friend.

You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years,
and get pats on the back as you pass.
But your final reward will be heartache and tears.
If you've cheated the man in the glass.

3h is almost my entire daily screen time

also good to note that i was overseas last week, so time was mostly spent absorbing nature/surroundings

my normal screen time is about ~4h judging from the week before i went on vacation

will be spending more time on screens once i start working, so will have to be more mindful moving forward
