The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
this book was recommended to me from the community here and it was a good read
the first few chapters were a bit slow/dry, but once you understand what was going on it gets interesting
tons of moving parts at the same time, with elements of time travel weaved into a crime solving story
i got lost a couple of times in the storyline because of its intricacies, but when the loop closes it gets so satisfying
also, when the plot twists happen (no spoilers!)
great fiction read

to be creative again #BM https://open.substack.com/pub/thedankoe/p/how-to-become-so-creative-it-feels
the advice given is very similar to what was shared to me by senior creatives as well
specifically, guarding your creative time and space - an hour to just let your mind roam be it through a walk, shower, or dazing, etc.
slow down your inputs, while being more curious about anything and everything in life
nature can tend to serve as the best inspiration, and she has most of the answers if we look closely enough

You’re 35. Someone raises their voice and suddenly you’re 7 years old again, sitting at the kitchen table, trying to disappear. Your brain is literally reverting to the age you were when the original wound happened.

I’ll admit - i was sceptical about the idea of AI psychosis. Not the specific cases, which were all too believable, but about the scale. How much was this happening? And anyway wouldn’t better models make it go away?

the big lie about competition

DAN KOE (@thedankoe) on X
Competition is largely an illusion. 95% of people don't even try to do great things. 0.1% of the people are loud, so you overestimate how many people there are. The rest get stuck worrying about competition and quitting after 2 weeks.
