Good morning / afternoon / evening to you, fellow Broadcast listener!

I have been meaning to share something with you for a while now. It’s about a pretty important message, so I think I will pin it.

So, being an admin is actually way more time-consuming than I thought. More life-consuming than I thought, even. After all, there is no getting around the fact that there is a real person behind this “admin” persona. I don’t think that I was quite aware of it myself.

What I was not aware either was that one sacrifices a great deal of free time being an admin of a moderately successful page. For better or worse, I’m pretty picky with the content I choose to share, which makes me spend hours upon hours trying to find a decent meme, or quote, or some piece of art. Add to that the fact that I have a full-time job, and that results in more than 10 hours of screen time every single day.

Granted I’m glad that this channel grew into what it is now, and never in my life could I have imagined that I would be getting this amount of overwhelming support. I have found a great community (and I love each one of you in the discussion group) and, to my surprise, I have found that people are genuinely interested in what I have to share. Yet I would lie if I said that it doesn’t interfere with my everyday life. I believe that some kind of digital detox would help me tremendously, not even taking into account my social withdrawal, or personal issues.

Exposition aside, the point: I think right now scheduling posts for the whole day works well, it does not, however, solve the issue of me wasting a lot of time trying to find memes. Fine. Eventually I plan to slow down. There is no definite deadline. And, you guessed it, at some point I would have to move on, for my own sake. Probably by the end of this year it will be hasta la vista, baby.

It’s not set in stone and I’m still unsure as to what to do. If you have any suggestions, or if you’ve had similar experience, feel free to drop a line in private messages @frankieteardrop.

Thank you for reading.

Cultural identity…is a matter of ‘becoming’ as well as of ‘being’. It belongs to the future as much as to the past. It is not something which already exists, transcending place, time, history and culture. Cultural identities come from somewhere, have histories. But, like everything which is historical, they undergo constant transformation. Far from being eternally fixed in some essentialised past, they are subject to the continuous ‘play’ of history, culture and power. Far from being grounded in a mere ‘recovery’ of the past, which is waiting to be found, and which, when found, will secure our sense of ourselves into eternity, identities are the names we give to the different ways we are positioned by, and position ourselves within, the narratives of the past.

The concept of humanity is an especially useful ideological instrument of imperialist expansion, and in its ethical-humanitarian form it is a specific vehicle of economic imperialism. Here one is reminded of a somewhat modified expression of Proudhon’s: whoever invokes humanity wants to cheat.
