TLDR; Discord is forcibly age restricting all accounts new and existing starting next month and will require you to upload your ID and or do a live face scan in order to no longer be age restricted.
The claim is all live face scans are done locally on your machine with no data being sent to their servers.
And they claim that any ID you upload will be quickly deleted after verification. However, it's not clear if they will not send your data off to a third party data broker prior to deleting your data.
Previously it has been shown that Discord's data breaches have contained the faces, dates of birth, addresses, and IP addresses of a multitude of users. Many users of which are minors.
