🗣️ Trade Policy of Russia and Its EAEU Partners as a Factor in Shaping BRICS Trade Regime

Over the past decades, regional trade agreements (RTAs) have evolved from a "supplement" to the multilateral trading system into one of the main instruments of foreign economic policy for many countries. According to the WTO's statistical database (RTA‑IS), as of February 2026, 380 RTAs were in force and operational worldwide. This rapid growth reflects not only the persistent difficulties in developing the multilateral trading system but also intensifying competition for regional markets and the increasing participation of companies in regional value chains.

Russia is pursuing a proactive policy of engagement with 🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊, promoting the development of the BRICS+ strategy by involving other Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries in cooperation within this format. This includes the growing use of RTAs. However, not all BRICS nations pursue similar policies when it comes to concluding RTAs.

🗣️ CyberPeace, BRICS, and a New Framework for Digital Trust

In the contemporary international order, cyberspace has emerged as both an enabler of unprecedented economic integration and a domain of strategic contestation. The architecture of the digital world, once viewed as a neutral infrastructure for innovation and exchange, is now deeply intertwined with questions of sovereignty, power, and systemic risk. As such, cybersecurity has transcended its technical origins to become a central pillar of statecraft and global governance.

At a time when India holds the BRICS chairship, the question of how 🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊 should think about digital cooperation has become especially timely. India has placed resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability at the centre of its BRICS agenda. 🗣️ Brazil’s Electoral Circle and the Prospects for Future Engagement to the BRICS Initiative

For much of the past two years, the Lula administration has positioned Brasília as a champion of the Global South, leveraging the BRICS platform to advocate for a less dollar-dependent international financial architecture and a recalibration of global governance.

Nevertheless, beneath this rhetoric of multipolarity, the current level of Brazilian reformist engagement within the bloc has experienced a discernible deceleration. The impetus behind Brazilian foreign policy has encountered a significant constraint, not owing to a scarcity of international opportunities, but rather to a highly uncertain domestic political environment.
