The Russian diplomat also said that the republic shared the core values of BRICS based on mutual respect and the sovereign equality of all states. At the moment, Bangui is set out to enhance cooperation with BRICS member states under the BRICS+ format, he added.

🗣 "Moscow and Pretoria's unwavering commitment to deepening political dialogue and coordinating actions in the UN, BRICS, the Group of Twenty and other multilateral formats, including in the interests of a speedy resolution of crises and conflicts in Africa and the Middle East, was also confirmed," the ministry stated.

The statement followed the meeting of Special Representative of the Russian president for the Middle East and African Countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa Anna Thandi Moraka on the sidelines of the first ministerial conference of the #RussiaAfrica Partnership Forum in Russia's Sochi.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed issues of further deepening Russian-South African cooperation in the trade, economic, scientific and technical fields.

Advisor to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov announced this during a press conference on the sidelines of the First Ministerial Conference of the Russia — Africa Partnership Forum, which has concluded yesterday in Sochi.

The key takeaways are as follows:

🔹 Over 1,500 people took part in the conference.
🔹 54 official delegations and 45 foreign ministers from African countries attended the venue.
🔹 175 media representatives, including 123 Russian and 52 foreign journalists, covered the event.
🔹 A volunteer corps of 500 people was formed.

According to the official, the main areas of cooperation between Russia and African countries include:

🔹 security, peace maintenance, and sovereign development;
🔹 food security and ensuring access to clean water for the entire population of African countries;
🔹 healthcare and healthy lifestyle;
🔹 development and accessibility of education, building humanitarian ties;

Languages of BRICS countries to be used at IV Young Scientists Congress for first time

🤳 Artificial intelligence will be employed for simultaneous translation. The technology is currently available in a test mode and supports four languages: Russian, English, Chinese, and French. 🇧🇾 Belarus officially became BRICS partner state

According to TASS news agency, Alexander Lukashenko signed a letter to Vladimir Putin on the country’s readiness to join BRICS as a partner.

The official response to the written invitation is an obligatory part of the procedure agreed upon by the member states for obtaining the partner status. From this moment, the country is officially considered a BRICS partner state.

🇰🇿 Kazakhstan may also join BRICS as a partner country. Russian MFA Sergey Lavrov announced this at a meeting with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu.

👉 Earlier it was reported that BRICS members agreed on a list of “dozen” partner countries at the BRICS Summit in Kazan. According to Vladimir Putin, this list will be made public after receiving a positive response from these countries to the invitation.

🇳🇦 Namibia eyes BRICS membership, seeking closer ties with progressive nations, says ambassador to Moscow

🗣 "You cannot be behind it [this process], which will open up interaction with progressive nations for us," Namibia's ambassador to Moscow, Clemens Handuukeme Kashuupulwa, told Russian media on the sidelines of the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum in Sochi.

Kashuupulwa stressed the potential benefits of closer ties with the influential bloc of emerging economies. He noted that while Namibia is actively working towards potential BRICS membership, the process has been delayed due to the death of the Namibian president and the upcoming elections scheduled for November 27.

🗣 "We are working closely with South Africa [on this matter], but for the moment we are not yet prepared to be members of BRICS," explained Ambassador Kashuupulwa.

The BRICS group, initially formed by Brazil, Russia, India, and China in 2006, expanded in 2011 to include South Africa and then further expanded in 2024 to invite several new countries, including Egypt and Ethiopia.

Following the recent BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia's President Vladimir Putin announced an expansion of the bloc with the establishment of a BRICS partner status. According to Putin, invitations will be sent to potential partner countries, and their acceptance will mark their official inclusion in the BRICS partnership framework.

The West aims to preserve dominance by undermining regional stability: Russian defense minister

MOSCOW, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- In a bid to preserve its global dominance, the West is attempting to undermine regional stability, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said on Tuesday.

"In order to preserve its role of the hegemon, the collective West is trying to undermine regional stability," Belousov said at a meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Moscow.

He said that consequently, the participants of the expanded BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, focused on promoting a peaceful settlement of conflicts, and "the formation of a fair multipolar world order."

The meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS kicked off in Moscow on Tuesday.

According to Belousov, senior defense officials from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Russia attended the meeting.

The participants will focus on the agenda concerning multilateral military cooperation within the CIS, said Belousov, adding that they will also discuss the preparations to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. ■

🇹🇷Turkey has received an invitation to become a BRICS partner state, Trade Minister Omer Bolat announced.

"BRICS is a coalition of important countries, which together account for 25% of the world's GDP. The popularity of BRICS is growing. Regarding Turkey's participation, we have been offered partnership. Turkey's involvement in the work of BRICS would be highly beneficial for the country in terms of cooperation with all significant international platforms," Haber TV quoted Bolat as saying.

He added that Turkey’s goal in BRICS is “to develop multifaceted and multi-level relations on the platform of the association, both in foreign policy and trade.”
