Sarah McInerney introduced an "expert on terrorism and policing" from UCC onto Drivetime to discuss the anti-lockdown protest in Dublin yesterday. The inference the state broadcaster want to draw is clear.

During the course of the interview, McInerney asked her that seeing as "maybe there isn't" a debate to be had about masks and vaccines but as some people believe there is, "where do you draw the line between freedom of speech and actually that's not okay?"

It was a strange question. If McInerney isn't sure whether there is a debate to be had about masks or vaccines, shouldn't it be obvious that debate should be encouraged on those subjects?

Natasha Dromey's answer was equally daft. She basically said the state couldn't be seen to be inhibiting free-speech but needed to frustrate it in less obvious ways in order not to legitimise the people who say the state is inhibiting their free speech.

They also discussed The Great Replacement which is just a conspiracy theory, as you know.
