The Testnet Crescendo Upgrade
We're excited to announce the finalized date for the next Testnet Crescendo Network Upgrade! Please note that testnet will be down for roughly 6 hours during this upgrade, and all smart contracts must be staged before the upgrade for a seamless migration!

Flow Testnet Maintenance
Flow Testnet will be upgrading on Wednesday, 14th August 2024, at 8am PT.
Flow Testnet will be unavailable between 8:00am PT to 2:00pm PT on that day.

The Crescendo Network Upgrade is coming to Testnet!

With this upgrade, Cadence comes to a point of maturity, and will be backward compatible in future upgrades. But any Smart Contracts must be updated to Cadence 1.0 before the upgrade goes live.

📣 The Flow Crescendo Network Upgrade 📣
Crescendo is the most significant upgrade to the Flow network since genesis. This upgrade includes full EVM Equivalence for all developers on Flow as well as marking the point of maturity for the Flow native programming environment with Cadence 1.0.

Flow Mainnet Maintenance

Flow Mainnet will be upgrading on Wednesday, 4 September 2024, 5am PT, transitioning from Mainnet 24 to Mainnet 25.

Flow Mainnet will be unavailable between 5am PT to 11am PT on that day.

Please plan accordingly for this Flow network upgrade.

All smart contracts must be upgraded to Cadence 1.0 before the upgrade. To ensure a seamless migration to Cadence 1.0, we are implementing a Cadence 1.0 readiness plan to flag and log transactions with potential breaking code. Starting August 7th, flagged transactions will incrementally face failures, reaching 100% by the time of the Crescendo network upgrade on September 4th, helping developers see if they need to update their smart contracts. Contracts that have been successfully prepared for Cadence 1.0 will not be impacted.

🛠 Flow Network Upgrade (Crescendo) Status Update 🛠

Crescendo is the most significant upgrade to the Flow Network since genesis. This upgrade includes full EVM equivalence for all developers on Flow, as well as marking the point of maturity for the Flow native programming environment with Cadence 1.0.

The Flow network upgrade (Crescendo) has now started on Mainnet. Flow will not process transactions during this period. The block height the network was stopped at is 85981134.

We will update you all when it is finished and Flow is out of maintenance, expected to be in ~6 hours, at 11am PT. You can receive text or email updates and notifications through the Flow Status page.

Introducing Forte: The Next Era For Flow

Flow’s upcoming network upgrade, Forte, brings composability and automation natively onchain through two powerful new primitives: Actions and Agents.

Actions are protocol-native operations (like swap, source, sink, flasher, and oracle) that can be composed together to build workflows across protocols. No glue code, no rewrites—just composable logic in a single atomic transaction.
Agents are onchain resources that live inside a Flow account. They execute scheduled transactions or respond to triggers, enabling fully automated, self-owned behavior with no backend or relayers.
