been getting some weird comments about the january video that was sponsored by bambu with some people accusing me of weird conspiracies or shit like that so i just want to talk about it for a sec:

no, i wasn't aware of the software changes that they were going to implement introducing bambu connect, i am not a bambu shareholder or anything i just make videos about stuff

i am aware this change is going to piss off a lot of tinkerers/hobbyists that want to have full control of the pipeline on both hardware and software, but for my specific use case, being someone that is just interested in the final result and finds their slicer software pretty much great for her specific use case, the printers are still great and they... just work, i am an apple user, i mostly edit my videos using a macbook and macos, so using closed source proprietary software isn't a big issue specifically for me as long as everything works, i can understand how this can be a problem for some people but i still love their products and i am still using them because these changes didn't really impact my use case at all

as i have already said in january i do also have another video planned since last year that is sponsored by them where i am designing something that requires 3d printing and i am using the a1 they sent me to do it, these contracts are something that creators sign months in advance and again i am pretty satisfied with their product and i am going to be transparent on what it is and who it is for: a more closed walled garden ecosystem like apple that kind of "just works"

the removal of pride month/black history month/other events from several calendars by several huge mega corps imo is going to lead to a Streisand effect where we are going to see people posting about them more simply because it's weird and messed up that they're gone, with some companies (like probably Twitter) maybe trying to counter that with an algorithm nerf

what i am saying is that if you want to post about this in the future you might consider thinking about how to hide your post about it in plain sight so that any potential algorithm can't censor your speech :)
