🇷🇴 The military plans of the Romanian government for the next 4 years has been revealed

The most eye-catching one is the explicit mention of increased the defense budget to 5% of GDP (Admin likes this but doubts it will be used properly). The continuation of the Mistral program has been decided, as well as creating a better modern integrated short-medium and long range AA defense capability

I will list here all the objectives set by the current government:

1. Implementing the Readiness 2030 plan with the use of SAFE financial instruments will be a priority
2. Connecting to all opportunities created by EU and NATO strategic partnerships (funding, military innovation, defense industry etc)
3. Further development of the F-16 training center part of the 86th airbase in order to become a training hub for all NATO and partner F-16 pilots as well as increasing inter-operability with allies
4. The wish to turn Romania into a regional maritime hub for the Black Sea as well as a logistics and maintenance hub
-in order to achieve this, the government seeks to modernize and bring to the latest NATO standards the following bases: 57th Mihail Kogalniceanu airbase, 71st Campia Turzii airbase, 86th Fetesti airbase and the Joint Training Center in Cincu

The government also wants to implement the following reforms:
1. Activate the EU's deficit and negotiate with the EU Comision in order to diminish budgetary deficit
2. Analysis of the command and combat structures in the country to better optimize them
3. Analysis of research and education institutions within the MoD, restructuring, resizing personnel and relocating funds according to needs and performance
4. Better centralizing of the different categories of forces and administrative roles of, what are called in Romania, "force structures" (this means police, gendarmerie, armed forces etc) in order to maintain and consolidate combat capabilities
5. Integrated acquisitions system for services to cut costs
6. Evaluation of the internal process for acquiring munitions and weaponry to cut down on the bureaucracy
7. Adapting legislature
8. An audit to establish and eliminate causes for delays in the acquisitions process
9. Modifying the legislature for acquiring optional judicial services for contracts that require approval from parliament (over 100 million euros)
10. Adapting the command and control structures within the MoD to curent NATO standards regarding quick reaction capacities, through reorganizing the command echelons and and areas of responsibility
11. Reforming the recruiting and conscription (no, it does not refer to mandatory service), through digitalization processes and attracting qualified personnel through attractive stimulants, with a focus on IT and technical professions
12. Reorganizing the General Armaments Direction in order to make it more efficient in preparing and creating eligible specific European programs munitions, military vehicles, military infrastructure, research-development and digitalization

🇺🇸🇮🇷 - VP Vance refused to give 100% guarantee that the Iranian nuclear objects are fully destroyed.

Romania and Hungary are the only countries in which opinions regarding Trump were mostly positive. The study was conducted in 12 European countries, half of them (countries like Denmark, Germany or the UK) have an absolute negative majority
