Imagine yourself living right now in a tattered tent, its bedding soaked by rainwater, its walls torn apart by a biting wind. Your children huddle around you in the darkness, unable to sleep, shivering from the cold and hunger, and you are helpless, unable to protect them from this suffering!
How would you feel, so powerless and helpless before them? Wouldn't you wish the earth would open up and swallow you whole?!
This is truly what the people of Gaza feel now, surrounded by hardship on all sides. Please remember us in your prayers, that God may relieve their distress, have mercy on them, and ease their suffering! You can contact me, verify my identity, and donate via

He was handed a psychological test in prison to determine his security level—and recognized it as one he'd helped design at Harvard. He aced his own system, got assigned to minimum security, and escaped two weeks later.
Timothy Leary was not born a counterculture icon. He became one because institutions kept underestimating him at every turn.
Harvard hired him in 1959 expecting a respectable psychologist. Instead they got a scholar who questioned the foundations of American conformity—a researcher who began studying the effects of psilocybin on human consciousness, giving graduate students psychedelics and asking them to describe their experiences.
Administrators panicked. Colleagues whispered. Newspapers sensationalized.
Harvard fired him in 1963, calling his research reckless and uncontrolled.
Leary saw the dismissal as liberation, not exile.
The public knew his famous slogan: "Turn on, tune in, drop out."
They rarely understood what he actually meant: question authority, rethink identity, refuse to live life by inherited scripts.
His critics heard nihilism. His followers heard permission. The state heard provocation.
Leary became the man politicians pointed to when warning about the collapse of traditional values. Richard Nixon called him "the most dangerous man in America."
He laughed at the moral panic. Then he pushed harder.
In 1965, he was arrested for marijuana possession at the Texas-Mexico border. His daughter had a small amount; he took responsibility.
Prosecutors demanded harsh sentencing. Leary was given 30 years in prison.
Instead of accepting defeat, he fought.
He appealed all the way to the Supreme Court—and won.
In Leary v. United States (1969), the Court ruled unanimously that the Marihuana Tax Act he'd been charged under violated the Fifth Amendment. The law required self-incrimination to comply with it.
Leary celebrated with legal citations, not LSD. He'd beaten the government on constitutional grounds.
But the victory was temporary. Different charges led to new convictions, and in 1970, Timothy Leary entered the California Men's Colony to serve time for marijuana possession.
That's when the story became surreal.
Prison officials handed him a standard psychological assessment to determine his security classification. Leary looked at the questions and smiled.
He recognized the test. He'd helped design it years earlier during his legitimate academic career.
He knew exactly how to answer to appear non-violent, conformist, and low-risk.
He aced his own system and was assigned to a minimum-security yard with gardening duties.
Two weeks later, he escaped.
With help from the Weather Underground—the radical activist group—Leary climbed a cable over a prison fence, slipped into a waiting car, and vanished into the night.
He fled to Algeria, where he briefly stayed with Black Panther leader Eldridge Cleaver. Then to Switzerland. Then to Afghanistan.
For three years, he was an international fugitive, giving lectures and interviews while intelligence agencies tracked him across continents.
In 1973, DEA agents working with Afghan authorities captured him in Kabul. He was returned to the United States in handcuffs and sent back to prison.
Newspapers framed it as the triumph of law over rebellion.
Leary framed it differently: he'd proven that one man with enough audacity could embarrass the most powerful institutions on Earth.

He was handed a psychological test in prison to determine his security level—and recognized it as one he'd helped design at Harvard. He aced his own system, got assigned to minimum security, and escaped two weeks later. Timothy Leary was not born a counterculture…
He served time—eventually released in 1976—and the decades that followed were quieter but no less defiant.
He lectured on cyberculture and technology, seeing the emerging internet as the next frontier for personal autonomy. He partnered with early technologists. He wrote about consciousness, space colonization, and the future of human evolution.
He refused to become a relic of the sixties, choosing instead to evolve in public.
Timothy Leary died in 1996 at age 75. Per his wishes, some of his ashes were launched into space.
His legacy remains controversial.
To critics, he was a charlatan who romanticized drug use and damaged a generation.
To supporters, he was a philosopher who taught people to question everything—authority, conformity, the scripts society handed them.
What's undeniable is his audacity.
He turned a Harvard firing into a movement. He turned a drug arrest into a Supreme Court victory. He turned imprisonment into an escape that made headlines worldwide.
And when he was handed a psychological test designed to classify him, he recognized his own work—and used it to beat the system one more time.
Timothy Leary spent his life asking questions that made powerful people uncomfortable.
"The moment you stop questioning," he once said, "somebody else starts answering for you."
Agree with him or not, he never stopped questioning.
And he made sure nobody else answered for him.

You think you're thinking really?
"Without inquiry, you can never detect whether your thoughts, feelings, conclusions, and decisions are really your own, or whether they have been implanted. Because once something has entered your insides, it will always appear innate. So, you'll have to question everything. Confidence is your enemy - catch it red-handed. Look at how it fabricates arguments in favour of preset conclusions. This inquiry requires a lot of inner boldness and a commitment to honesty - this is real spirituality and the way of Vedanta."
