This morning, on the anniversary of the blessed birth of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (A), and the sixth anniversary of the martyrdom of General Soleimani, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution met with the esteemed families of the martyrs of the 12-day war (the Martyrs of Power).
He described the justice and piety of the Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali (A) as two essential peaks needed by the country and the most necessary qualities for governing society. Emphasizing the need for vigilance and the strengthening of national unity in the face of the enemies’ “soft war,” he stated that this war, based on deception, lies, accusations, and rumors, is the same war adopted by the enemies of the Alawi government after their military defeats against Imam Ali, in an effort to prevent the realization of his objectives.
Imam Khamenei described the anniversary of Imam Ali’s birth as an exceptional day in history, both because of the place of his birth, the House of God, and because of the person born on that day. He added that among Imam Ali’s unique qualities, today we are in greater need of two qualities: justice and piety, and that by taking the Master of the God-conscious as our model, we must move toward these two peaks upon which Imam Ali stood. He noted that although progress has been made along this path, there remains a distance to where we must reach.
Explaining the different methods Imam Ali employed to establish justice, the Leader said that at times he implemented justice through kindness, service to the weak, and care for orphaned families, at other times through Dhulfiqar and divine firmness, and at still other times through eloquent speech, wisdom, and clarification.
He described the Commander of the Faithful as a source of the “jihad of clarification” and noted that Imam Ali’s governing decree to Malik al-Ashtar is filled with concepts that establish justice.
Regarding Imam Ali’s (A) approach to piety, Imam Khamenei said that sometimes the Commander of the Faithful manifested piety in the prayer niche through worship, prayer, and supplication to God, leaving the angels of the Throne in awe; at other times through patience, silence, and relinquishing his own rights to preserve Muslim unity and prevent discord; and at times by standing firm in the most difficult moments, such as Laylat al-Mabit and the battles alongside the Prophet (S).

Ayatollah Khamenei added that the power and capability of the Iranian nation forced the enemy to request a halt to the war and later send messages saying they did not want to fight Iran, though he stressed that no trust should be placed in the deceitful and lying enemy.
Referring to the average age of 26 among scientists involved in the recent satellite launches, he described it as evidence of Iran’s vast human capital, and said that while an American demagogue insults and deceives when speaking about Iran, today not only the Iranian people but the entire world has recognized America, and its disgrace has been exposed globally.
He called true recognition of the enemy a major achievement and said that during the 12-day war, the people witnessed the reality of America firsthand. Even those who once believed negotiation was the solution realized that while talks were underway, the U.S. government was preparing plans for war.
Finally, he stressed the necessity of vigilance against soft war, doubt-mongering, and rumor-spreading, noting the billions of dollars spent to disseminate falsehoods inside Iran through media networks. He said the goal is to weaken the country and disrupt the miraculous unity displayed by the nation during the 12-day war, concluding that the most important duty is awareness of the enemy’s hostility and preserving internal unity, as expressed in the Quranic principle: “Firm against the disbelievers, compassionate among themselves.”
In another part of his remarks, Imam Khamenei referred to the gatherings of bazaar merchants in the past week and noted that the bazaar and bazaaris are among the most loyal segments to the system and the Islamic Revolution, and that they are well known to the authorities. Therefore, he said, one cannot confront the Islamic Republic in the name of the bazaar or bazaaris.
