Iran’s master painter and miniaturist, Ustad Mahmoud Farshchian, has passed away. He was renowned for his celebrated depiction of the Ashura evening, portraying the return of Imam Husayn’s (A) steed to the tents of the Prophet’s (S) holy household with the Imam’s blood on its forehead.

Farshchian’s artistic legacy also includes the intricate design of the Zarih (the latticed enclosure placed over the tomb), roof, door, and cellar of the shrine of Imam Husayn (A) in Karbala, as well as the shrine of the 8th Shiite Imam, Ali ibn Musa al-Reza (A) in Mashhad. He also served as a member of the committee overseeing the construction of these sacred sites.

Born on January 24, 1930, in Isfahan, Farshchian mastered painting, miniature, and sculpture from a young age. His works have been exhibited in prestigious museums and galleries worldwide, cementing his place as one of Iran’s greatest artistic figures.

In recent days, Farshchian suffered a fall, which led to a partial coma. Though initially conscious, his condition deteriorated, and he passed away today. He will be buried in the holy shrine of Imam Ali Reza (A) in Mashhad.

This social categorization fosters suspicion and alienation, which external forces have exploited to deepen sectarian cleavages.

The daily lived experience of these communities further illustrates how symbolic interactionism plays a role in sustaining exclusion. Media portrayals, educational curricula, and public discourse have historically framed Shias as the “other” ritualistic, heretical, or politically radical, thus reinforcing stereotypes that legitimize discrimination and violence. These negative images are internalized and reproduced through social interactions, perpetuating the marginalization of Shia populations within broader Muslim societies.

The dominant non-Shia narrative, supported by political institutions and external actors, has consistently painted Shias as deviant or dangerous, masking the political interests behind such portrayals.

Currently, Shias in Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, and Syria find themselves at the frontline of a brutal campaign that combines physical violence with social and ideological warfare. Their resistance challenges the geopolitical status quo, making them targets for an intensified war that is as much about controlling narratives and identities as it is about territorial dominance.

The question that emerges for the broader Muslim world is whether it can transcend these constructed sectarian divides to recognize the shared nature of this struggle. The silence or outright hostility from many Muslim communities toward the plight of Shias reflects how deeply these social barriers run. Without addressing these internal divisions, the Muslim world risks perpetuating a cycle of fragmentation that benefits imperial and Zionist agendas.

Today, Shias in Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, and Syria face a direct assault from American terror and political pandemics. The crucial question: where are the Muslims? Turkey-Julani are probably struggling to figure out what to follow and what to ignore, caught between directives from the CIA, European powers, and their own agenda.

Turkey is pushing the Syrian occupation hard to cancel the Paris meeting between SDF leaders and Syrian Occupation regime's FM Asaad al-Shaibani because Ankara fears France’s pro-Kurdish stance might tip the balance in Syria’s future governance talks, favoring Kurdish interests over Turkish ambitions. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan’s visit to Damascus was partly to pressure Damascus into dropping that meeting.

Hakan Fidan used the same Erdogan-style anti-Israel statements to express his anger against the Western favoring of the SDF by saying, “We denounce the formation of any corridor from Suwayda to the SDF.” In reality, Fidan’s regime is the main promoter and helper in constructing this corridor, but when they see the SDF gaining more leverage, they have started giving blanket threats that they won’t take part in the David corridor anymore if the SDF gets failures (you can't make us fool anymore).

This new Syrian occupation administration is trying to subjugate its people with force, despite its shaky grip on power. SDF is playing a clever game by organizing conferences to unite Syrian factions, presenting itself as the only feasible manager of the country, but this clashes directly with Damascus’s approach. It should be noted that the SDF is a creation of Washington. It enjoys American support and receives guidance on managing northeast Syria, even corrections, based on Washington’s interests. Whoever is pushing the SDF toward this strategy is none other than the Syrian occupation itself, betting on promises from the Arabs and Americans, who created and still control the SDF, guiding its moves and correcting its mistakes to serve Washington’s interests in northeast Syria.

Treacherous Washington plays the role of the police chief, manipulating everyone, not the policeman acting on the ground. Meanwhile, Julani and his rebranded terrorist gang have no clue how to govern human beings despite their violent history and are now puppets of Americans, Europeans, British, Saudis, or Qatar. Hon' Ali Akbar Velayati, in response to a question about the recent move by Donald Trump, the U.S. president, regarding the so-called “Zangezur Corridor” and his claim that it has been leased for 99 years, said: “Is the South Caucasus some ownerless land that Trump can lease it? The Caucasus is one of the most sensitive geographical points in the world, and this passage will not become a corridor owned by Trump, but rather a graveyard for Trump’s mercenaries. Iran’s long-standing opposition to the creation of anything called the Zangezur Corridor, explaining that such a corridor would alter the region’s geopolitical situation, shift borders, and is designed in line with the disintegration of Armenia."

Referring to Iran’s firm actions in expressing opposition to the launch of this conspiratorial corridor, He said:

“When Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan insisted on their demand to build this corridor, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, under the command of the martyred Lieutenant General Bagheri (then Chief of the General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces), held multiple military exercises in northwestern Iran, which demonstrated our country’s readiness and determination to prevent this action.”

Mr. Velayati stressed that “leasing a corridor by another country is a naïve statement, and Trump is pretending to be naïve.”

He said: “This claim that Trump could lease a corridor on this side of the world is like someone from here going and leasing the Panama Canal for himself! This is impossible and will not happen.”

He pointed out that “Trump, as always, makes flashy but empty statements,” and added: “Trump thinks he is a real estate agent and wants to lease land or a region!”

With or without Russia, we will prevent the security of the South Caucasus from being endangered.

He stressed that the plan for this corridor, which will eventually lead to the disintegration of Armenia, is met with strong opposition from the Armenian people, noting that no nation would be willing to accept the disintegration of its territory, even if its government unfortunately takes unstable positions.

He referring to the stance of Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan, said that during his previous visit to Iran, given the clear and conspiratorial harm of this plan, Pashinyan emphasized that he agreed with Iran’s position and opposed the construction of the corridor.

He recalled that the construction of the Zangezur Corridor would alter Iran’s borders and restrict our country’s northern and northwestern access to only Turkey, stating: “With the implementation of this plot, the security of the South Caucasus will be endangered, and for this reason, Iran has emphasized that, with or without Russia, it will act to safeguard the security of the South Caucasus. Mr. Velayati emphasized that this corridor is not merely a trade passage but a political conspiracy against Iran and some neighboring countries, adding: “In addition to Turkey, which is a NATO member, other NATO countries also want to be present in this region, and NATO would be like a viper between Iran and Russia; but Iran will not allow this to happen.”

He noted: “Putin has repeatedly said regarding Ukraine that if Ukraine joins NATO and approaches Moscow, he will act; we also will not allow NATO to approach Iran’s northern borders, and in this regard, we believe that prevention is better than cure!”


He said that the people of Iran’s northern regions — from West and East Azerbaijan to Ardabil, Gilan, the Daylamites, Mazandaranis, Khorasanis, and others — will stand against any conspiracy in northwestern Iran. These people have, throughout history, resisted from the time of the Umayyads to the Ottomans who sought to occupy this land, and today they will likewise not allow conspiracies in these areas.

Mr. Velayati stated that the connection between Nakhchivan and the territory of Azerbaijan does not require a corridor, and they can use Iran for this link. He stressed that the equations and relations in this region are not limited to Azerbaijan and Armenia, but a geopolitical change here would also shift Iran’s borders; therefore, we have the right to defend our interests with full strength.

On Lebanon, He noted that this is not the first time some in Lebanon, guided by the U.S. and the Zionist regime, have raised the idea of disarming Hezbollah; but just as such anti-Lebanese schemes failed in the past, this one will also fail, and the Resistance will stand against these conspiracies.

He stressed that at a time when the Resistance had fewer capabilities and less power, it still thwarted such plans; now, with a much stronger popular backing and greater resources, by God’s permission these schemes will certainly not succeed.

He stated that today the Resistance in Lebanon enjoys the support and acceptance of all Lebanese — Christians, Shi’a, Sunnis, and others and that Resistance means the dignity, life, and security of Lebanon, all of which depend on it. He added that the Lebanese people have not forgotten that in 1982, when the Resistance did not yet exist, the Israelis advanced to southern Beirut and the Dahiyeh area, but were ultimately forced to withdraw due to Hezbollah’s resistance.

He said that one reason for such political debates is that the Zionists, with American help, assassinated great figures like the martyred Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah and think Hezbollah has been weakened — but in fact, Hezbollah’s core remains extremely strong. Today Hezbollah is far more resilient than it was in 1982–1983; without it, Israel would have inflicted on Lebanon the same disaster it brought upon Palestine. Hezbollah, which has safeguarded Lebanon, will also protect itself against these American schemes.

Mr. Velayati emphasized: “For the Lebanese people and the peoples of the region, the question is whether the Lebanese government has no concern for protecting its country and nation when it raises such proposals. If Hezbollah lays down its arms, who will defend the lives, property, and honor of the Lebanese? Have the past experiences not served as a lesson to some of the politicians in this country?”

Syria: There Will Be No Second Julani

“This process in Lebanon is solely the will of the U.S. and Israel,” he said. “The U.S. and Israel think they can bring another Julani to power in Lebanon; but this dream will never come true, and Lebanon, as always, will stand firm.”

He stressed: “The Islamic Republic of Iran will certainly oppose the disarmament of Hezbollah, because Iran has always supported the Lebanese people and the resistance, and continues to do so.”

Iran and Iraq: Against Disarming the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF)

Similar plots by the U.S. against Iraq’s PMF, Mr. Velayati referred to his recent phone call with former Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, noting: “Mr. Nouri al-Maliki is a courageous man; he was the one who, in his government, issued the death sentence for Saddam and expelled the MEK from Iraq. In our recent phone call, he stressed that after Lebanon, the U.S. and Israel want to target Iraq’s PMF. But both Mr. Maliki and I emphasized that Iran and Iraq will oppose the disarmament of both Hezbollah in Lebanon and the PMF in Iraq, and will stand against it.”

He added: “If the PMF does not exist, the Americans will swallow Iraq, because the same role Hezbollah plays in Lebanon, the PMF plays in Iraq.”

In response to a question about how to prevent Hezbollah’s disarmament while countering Israeli-American plans for internal conflict in Lebanon, Mr. Velayati said: “Our advice is that Lebanon’s wise figures stand against those who are leading this disarmament plan; otherwise, the resistance will block it, and we will support the resistance. Lebanon’s wise figures must neutralize this irrelevant plan.”

“Lebanon is not like Syria, and someone like Julani cannot rise there. In my view, there are wise people inside Lebanon who will prevent this, because the majority of the Lebanese people know that the guardian of their security, lives, property, and honor against terrorists like ISIS, Julani, and the terrorist Israel is Hezbollah. The fate and developments of Syria are before their eyes. What happened in Syria? President Bashar al-Assad was sidelined, Julani came to power, and what was the result? Israel commits any crime it wants against this country, and the risk of partition threatens Syria more than ever. The Lebanese people have witnessed these events and know that the security they enjoy is the product of Hezbollah’s presence.”

Regarding recent Israeli attacks on Hezbollah that coincide with the disarmament plot, he said: “The current ceasefire benefits Israel. Israel, using this ceasefire, is essentially keeping itself afloat, whereas the ceasefire should not be an obstacle to Hezbollah defending Lebanon.”

On the resistance in Yemen, Velayati said: “Yemen is a jewel within the axis of resistance that Allah has sent to help the resistance.”

He added: “The Yemenis are not only helping the region’s resistance but also control the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, standing against the plans of the U.S., Britain, Australia, and others, and striking their targets in this strait with missiles. The aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman was among the military ships that were targeted dozens of times and, by Trump’s order, was forced to withdraw.”

He continued: “The Yemenis have today frustrated the Zionist regime and the U.S., and in the future, the Syrian resistance will also rise and thwart the Israelis’ plans even more.”

In conclusion, Mr. Velayati stressed:

“Despite the enemy’s propaganda and psychological warfare, today the resistance is more cohesive and stronger than before, preventing American and Zionist schemes in the region. Iran is the core of the axis of resistance, and with frankness and courage, supports the resistance — and soon everyone will see that despite all conspiracies, the future of the region belongs to its people and to the resistance.”

The decision of the guardianship authority in Lebanon while formally issued by a government headed by Nawaf Salam in partnership with President Joseph Aoun has become known to have come under external pressure, primarily through the Saudi regime’s envoy Yazid bin Farhan Al Saud.

The same Saudi regime that pressures Lebanon to drag the resistance into internal conflict with the army and some local forces is the one that attempts, in full coordination with the Americans and Zionists, to do the same in Iraq… by pushing the Baghdad government to issue a decision against the weapons of resistance factions under the same title: confining weapons to the state’s hands!
