On the surface, it may appear as a de-escalation effort, but the underlying implications are far more severe:

The effective result could be the normalization of HTS’s presence in Suwayda under indirect or disguised arrangements. This risks legitimizing the group’s rule in new areas under the pretense of stabilizing the south, opening the door for their deeper infiltration of Druze lands and surrounding regions.

By expanding HTS and Bedouin militia networks near eastern Lebanon, the corridor from Jordan through Suwayda to the Bekaa Valley becomes militarized and hostile. This corridor would function as a launchpad for Israel-friendly militant activity targeting the Lebanese resistance, cutting off southern Syria from any real autonomy.

The Bedouin tribal fighters currently pouring into Suwayda many of them unaccountable, well-armed, and operating with jihadist logic are indeed potential seeds for a revived ISIS-2.0 network against Lebanon.

I asked him about the Zionist intention - he knows they will exploit the situation but told me the majority are against this. However there may need to be a long term strategy to take into account the horrors his people are facing. He said;

It is a war of extermination and ethnic cleansing, carried out by a gang that has been handed over the rule of Syria, our Syria - to achieve the interests of certain entities that invest in global terrorism. They make Jolani a tool to perform their dirty missions for implementing geopolitical goals".

He went on:

Jolani has been incubated, trained and has lived as a terrorist. His mentality and emotions will never change, he is a terrorist. How can this terrorist be trusted to govern a multi-ethnic nation like Syria?"


When you talk to someone so clear headed and so patriotic, loyal to the values that Syria and Syrians once held so dear, I do feel some hope that these people will rebuild Syria and that the Takfiri cancer will be torn out of the beating heart of a country that has rejected multiple attempts, through history, by successive Empires, to destroy and break this country.

Finally he told me:

"We are humans, minority born, Syrian. We will not leave this country except as martyrs, buried under Syrian stone. We were forced to resist, to defend everything that is our existence"

✅ | In the core teachings of the Qur’an, targeting religious sites of any faith and those who serve them is considered haram. Prophet Muhammad (S) explicitly forbade the killing of priests, monks, hermits, and anyone in service of temples or houses of worship, unless they themselves initiated aggression or attacked Muslims. These foundational teachings were ignored and cast aside very early during the caliphate, particularly during the rule of Umar ibn al-Khattab. When Persia was conquered, the so-called Islamic army plundered many monasteries and dragged priests into captivity.

Many companions, prominently Imam Ali (A), strongly opposed this. He came forward and warned not to harm those who are devoted to their religion without having committed any crime. Caliph Umar accepted this and praised Imam Ali (A) for his stance and repeated it many times later.

Yet today, these so-called “Islamic” or “Sunni” militants, who are nothing but ideological hounds, are killing Druze ulama, abusing them, and even sexually harassing them. This is not Islam. This is colonial-Sunnism repackaged as a time bomb, and it must be suppressed by true Qur’anic Sunnism, by Shi‘ism, and by other genuine religious traditions. This ideological time bomb is a threat to all of humanity.
