Well aware of the lurking threat, Hezb openly rejected the idea of Geagea reaching the Presidency, which essentially ended that conversation. The questions that remain are: (1) How will the new President deal with Hezb? (2) Will the war with israel resume after the 60-day period? If the new President decides to fight Hezb, this will lead to a civil war and dismantle the Lebanese Army, about a third of which is Shi'a. It will mean the U.S has decided Lebanon must become a failed state, and its institutions will be broken most probably beyond repair.
