Turkey’s recent move to propose a coordination mechanism with Israel for operations in Syria has raised serious concerns. This arrangement, modeled after Israel’s existing deal with Russia, reveals Ankara’s willingness to cooperate with Israel in a way that undermines Syria’s sovereignty and could worsen the ongoing crisis in the region. Despite its scripted and controlled public statements against israel which has already shook the anti Israel turkish activists, Turkey appears to be brazenly aligning with Tel Aviv to strengthen its regional influence.

For years, Turkey has supported Syrian opposition terror proxies. Now, by working closely with Israel, Turkey risks enabling foreign interference under the pretext of maintaining security and stability. Critics argue that this partnership is more about expanding Turkey’s and Israel’s control in Syria rather than addressing the suffering of its people or helping rebuild the nation.

Turkey's partner in crime; Azerbaijan has also entered the picture, further exposing the hypocrisy of these alliances. Azerbaijan recently announced plans to reopen its embassy in Damascus and send humanitarian aid to Syria. However, much of this aid is being funneled through Turkey and Israeli-backed networks, raising doubts about its sincerity. Many see this as an attempt to legitimize foreign-backed Syrian terrorist forces, further entrenching Israeli influence in the region with Turkey’s full support.

The growing Turkey-Israel partnership in Syria is a troubling development that must be called out. It not only weakens Syria’s sovereignty but also exposes Turkey’s duplicity in its dealings with regional powers, further complicating efforts to bring peace to the region.
