Israel has reportedly sent a Mossad delegation to Damascus, coordinating with the so-called new Syrian government in an effort to locate the burial place of the infamous Israeli spy Eli Cohen. Cohen, who was executed in Syria in 1965, remains a figure in Israeli espionage history.

Meanwhile, tensions are rising in the Yarmouk Camp, south of Damascus, where the Military Operations Department has requested Palestinian factions to hand over their headquarters outside Palestinian camps. The factions, including the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Islamic Jihad Movement, Palestinian Popular Struggle Front, and the Popular Front, were reportedly informed that their offices inside the camps must remain open with only individual weapons until their legal status is organized. Steve Witkoff, President-elect Donald Trump’s envoy to the "Middle East", visited Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, where he held discussions with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. According to sources familiar with the meeting, Trump aims to broker a so called-historic normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia. During his trip, Witkoff also met with the UAE’s National Security Adviser, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed, discussing critical issues such as the ongoing war in Gaza, the invasion in Syria. In addition, Massad Boulos, Trump’s Middle East adviser and son-in-law, was in the region this week, meeting with Qatar’s Prime Minister in Doha. On the same day, Boulos also met in Washington with King Abdullah II of Jordan. Further meetings took place in Washington, where Witkoff and Boulos met with Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, who is a close ally of Prime Minister Netanyahu. Lastly, Adam Boehler, Trump’s newly appointed special envoy for prisoner affairs, is expected to visit Israel this week for the first time since his appointment.
