As Israel continues its brutal attacks on Gaza, Lebanon, and other parts of the region, various resistance movements, especially in Iraq, have made their support for Palestine clear. These movements are not only standing with Gaza but are also warning Israel of severe consequences if it expands its operations beyond Palestine.

Israeli Threats to Iraq:

Israel has issued threats to strike Iraq in response to the resistance operations carried out by Iraqi factions supporting Lebanon and Gaza. These threats have been framed as a pretext by Israel to justify further expanding the conflict and avoiding international pressure for a ceasefire. According to Ali Al-Sahib (H), a senior official from the Al-Nujaba Movement, these threats are not based on real concerns about Israeli security but are an attempt by Israel to prolong its war efforts. Al-Sahib argues that Israel is using these threats to keep the regional war going, to keep attention away from its ongoing war crimes in Gaza. Al-Sahib also pointed out that Iraq’s government has made efforts to avoid any direct conflict, given the country’s fragile situation. However, resistance factions in Iraq are firmly committed to confronting Israel if it escalates its attacks. Al-Sahib made it clear that Iraq’s resistance groups are operating in coordination with each other and are ready to respond if Israel attacks.

Hajj Abdul Qadir al-Karbalaei (H), the military deputy of Al-Nujaba, made a strong statement in response to Israeli threats. Addressing Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, he mocked the Israeli entity, saying it was weaker than a spider’s web. He said: Iraq is not afraid of Israeli threats, and if Israel attacks, Iraq will respond forcefully. He emphasized that Iraq’s drone capabilities would be a nightmare for Israel and warned that any foolish act by Israel would lead to devastating consequences.

Kataeb Hezbollah’s Stance on Negotiations and Resistance Unity:

Kataeb Hezbollah, another key player in Iraq’s resistance, has also weighed in on the ongoing indirect negotiations, particularly those mediated by the American envoy Amos Hochstein, aimed at ending the fighting in Lebanon. Hajj Abu Hussein al-Hamidawi (H), the secretary-general of Kataeb Hezbollah, expressed strong skepticism about American involvement in these negotiations. He pointed out that the U.S. has a history of deceit and trickery, and it cannot be trusted to bring about a just solution. Al-Hamidawi made it clear that any ceasefire decisions should come from Hezbollah and other resistance groups, who are better placed to assess the situation on the ground.

Al-Hamidawi emphasized the importance of unity among the resistance groups in the region, particularly in relation to the Palestinian cause. He made it clear that Iraq’s resistance groups, including Kataeb Hezbollah, are in constant communication with Hezbollah, Ansarallah, and Palestinian resistance factions to ensure that their actions are aligned. The unity of the resistance front is crucial to their strategy, and Al-Hamidawi reaffirmed that Iraq’s role in this struggle is to stand firm with Palestine and Lebanon. He stressed that the Iraqi resistance will not abandon the Palestinian people and will continue to support their efforts against Israeli oppression.
