In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime against several military centers in Iran as a blatant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, particularly the principle of non-threat or use of force against the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of countries.

As has been repeatedly emphasized by the competent authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on the inherent right to self-defense, which is also reflected in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, considers itself entitled and obligated to defend against foreign aggressive acts.

The Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes the use of all material and spiritual capabilities of the Iranian nation to defend its vital security and interests and, recognizing its duties regarding regional peace and security, reminds all countries in the region of their individual and collective responsibility to safeguard regional peace and stability. It appreciates all peace-loving countries in the region and other countries that have expressed disgust and condemned the aggressive actions of the occupying Israeli regime in light of the current critical conditions.

Undoubtedly, the continued occupation, illegal actions, and crimes of the Zionist regime in the region, particularly the genocide of the Palestinian people and aggression against Lebanon— which have continued under the comprehensive military and political support of the U.S. and some other Western countries—are the main factors of tension and insecurity in the region.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, recalling the responsibility of each member state of the United Nations, member states of the “Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide,” and member states of the “Four Geneva Conventions of 1949,” calls for urgent and collective action against the gross violations of international law and the United Nations Charter, the Genocide Convention, and international humanitarian law, which are simultaneously considered serious violations of international peace and security. It emphasizes the necessity of immediate and urgent action by the international community to stop the genocide, war, and aggression against Gaza and Lebanon and to curb the warmongering of the Zionist regime.
