Imam Ali (A) recounts an event from the early days of Islam when he was sitting with the Prophet Muhammad (S), his uncle Hamza, his brother Ja’far, and their cousin Ubaydah. Imam Khamenei referred to current events in the region, including those in Gaza, Lebanon, and the West Bank, as pivotal moments in history. He remarked, “If there had not been individuals like the martyr Sinwar fighting until the last moment or great leaders like the martyr Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah combining jihad, intellect, bravery, and sacrifice in the battlefield, the region’s fate would have taken a different course.”
Imam Khamenei described the current developments as a significant defeat not only for the Zionist regime but also for Western civilization and culture. He stated, “The Zionists thought they could easily destroy the Resistance groups, but today, despite the martyrdom of over 50,000 defenseless civilians and the assassination of several top Resistance leaders, and despite the enormous expenses and support from the U.S. along with the global shame and hatred they’ve earned—evidenced by protests even in American universities—the Resistance Front and the fighting youth in Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, and other groups continue with the same determination and strength. This is a great defeat for the Zionist regime.”
Imam Khamenei described an even greater defeat as belonging to Western culture and civilization, pointing out that, “The massacre of 10,000 innocent children with two-ton bombs and various weapons, without the slightest concern from Western politicians, has exposed the hypocrisy of these so-called human rights advocates and discredited Western civilization worldwide.
