Mindestlohn in Luzern: Historisch – oder nur ein kurzes Aufatmen?

Ab Neujahr gilt in der Stadt Luzern ein gesetzlicher Mindestlohn. Für wie lange, ist jedoch unklar: Eine bürgerliche Allianz aus Stadt und Kanton will ihn gleich wieder abschaffen.

They publish this article and the UK boomer comment section goes nuts and try to contest that the SVP is far right. And just for the record this isn't the first referendum that the FAR-RIGHT, NATIONALIST, POPULIST SVP succesfully brings to the ballots. But sadly enough the idea of capping the maximum of inhabitants has a long tradition. First time it happened was in the late 60s/early 70s with referendums by James Schwarzenbach (the prototype and role model of every European rightwing populist) targeting Italians. About twenty years ago there was another referendum (obviously the voters said no) initiated by the FDP (liberal/radical, the party that founded the modern federal state in Switzerland, they are centre-right on the political spectrum just like the democrats in the US) who wanted to limit the total population at 8 million. I don't even bother to give you arguments about this new referendum. Everything about it is just plain stupid and irrational.

Every single political scientist will put the SVP on the far-right of the spectrum. In fact the party is one of the most far right parties in whole of Europe. So FUCKING STOP normalizing rightwing xenophobia and racism by saying that this party is centre of the political spectrum.

Note: BDP and CVP (Christian people's party) merged into "Die Mitte" (4th biggest party). Also note the reason why the Green party in Switzerland is left is due to the founding of a centre party (the green-liberals). The real leftist Green party nowadays is the 5th biggest party in Switzerland.

Also from 2014: reflects the past 30 years of positioning. Which means you can see how the SVP went from a bourgeois party for farmers and small business owners to this nationalist party after the takeover of multi-billionaire apartheid supporter Christoph Blocher. He positioned the party as Anti-EU, anti-foreigners and neoliberal, nationalist.

If you want to see the playbook of Trump, AfD (there are direct ties between AfD and SVP), Reform party, FPÖ and Gert Wilders etc pp. Look no further and study the case of Switzerland. Everything that happens when it comes to anti-immigrant legislation we always adopt 10 years before everyone else.
