TEXAS MOUNTED NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

National Neighborhood Watch began in 1972 with funding in part by the National Sheriffs' Association, through a grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice.

Since 1972, the National Neighborhood Watch Program (housed within the National Sheriffs’ Association) has worked to unite law enforcement agencies, private organizations, and individual citizens in a nation-wide effort to reduce crime and improve local communities.

The success of the program has established Neighborhood Watch as the nation’s premier crime prevention and community mobilization program. Visible signs of the program are seen throughout America on street signs, window decals, community block parties and service projects.

In Texas, we will take it a step further. To be the eyes and ears for Sheriffs along the Rio Grande River.

Operating legally, morally and ethically, within the parameters of the Neighborhood Watch Program, these mounted citizens will provide much needed assistance to small Sheriffs Offices and stake holders.

The border is currently in a state of chaos and citizens of the State of Texas along the border are living in a semi-permissive environment.

Our mission statement is to essentially come to the aide of Texas citizens and Law Enforcement by providing extra eyes and ears, as well as serving in various other supporting roles.

The 125th Texas Cavalry will be mobile, agile and able to traverse, with permissions, through regions typically impassable by current means.
