Those are emotions almost always seen in the "negative" part of the spectrum, and for good reasons indeed.
The industrial society, in order to control the system created by the great despoilers and exploiters, must demonize these emotions as a treat, a ill that must be cured.

This is the question everytime someone tries to figure out why we live like this, and why the violence.
Why brothers should hurt each others bare Knuckle under the full moon.
The answer is yes. And the answer to "why" is "because yes."
We grow up indoctrinated about the logical sense of everything forgetting easily our instinctual purposes and the need to celebrate what lives in our blood, which means in our specific case our gallic traditions and ancestors (for the vast majority) for example.
But it goes beyond matters of blood.
Sometimes the non sense, the illogical and the occult, the frightening feeling of challenging the uncertainty, it's the only thing that connect us to our true selves, therefore, to the most intimate sense of our existence.
An outlaw is a warrior that battles tradition itself in order to prove it, a paradox , but look in a random city, in the belly of the beast, and you will figure out why you must challenge it : it must be purified and renewed.

Do it properly or play.
Yes of course , there is softer sparring and harder sparring but you must always aim to exhaustion.
The warrior mindset will turn on only under extreme pressure. Push yourself toward mistakes and extreme cardio.
Again: in all honestly, the concept of "light sparring " is just bullshit. We all know what happens once you reach four or five 3 minutes rounds.
And that's totally OK.
Let's take this short video:
It is recorder after 10 , 2 min rounds with gloves. Here you clearly see a lot of mistakes. My left foot for example doesn't even work. My left hand should have been much more deadly. My brother's defense is weak on his left hand and he is clearly not thinking enough about a tactic to make me drop my defense. Feet too heavy.
Go toward mistakes through exhaustion and you will fix them.
Again: war is cardio.

Spar hard.
Don't complain for wounds.
