Worldcoin, a decentralized open source protocol co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, has closed its $115M investment round that was led by Blockchain Capital. Additional round participants included a16z, Bain Capital Crypto, and Distributed Global. The fresh capital will help accelerate research, development, and growth efforts on the Worldcoin project and the World App, the first crypto wallet for the Worldcoin ecosystem. Worldcoin is currently in beta and is being built around the decentralized World ID and the Worldcoin token.
