RNZ today warned the conflict around the Strait of Hormuz could trigger a “global energy crisis.”

The Government says New Zealand has “healthy fuel stock levels.”
Finance Minister Nicola Willis says supplies are secure.

But the actual amount of fuel physically inside New Zealand has not been confirmed, with officials saying the numbers are “commercially sensitive.”

Fuel security affects every New Zealander. Transport, food supply, emergency services and the economy.
It’s not just a competition issue between fuel companies.

Since the closure of Marsden Point Oil Refinery, New Zealand relies entirely on imported refined fuel.

Yet there is still no publicly confirmed figure for how many days of fuel we have here, and no clear contingency plan if shipping disruptions continue.

WAIT TILL THE END OF THE MOVIE…

There is a heck of a lot of fake news of different kinds circulating at the moment. Many people are falling into error through believing it and many are choosing which they believe and which they disbelieve based, not on truth, but on their own feelings, pro or anti Trump (or Trump-fudamentalist vs black-pill-fundamentalist.)

I find it refreshing to watch someone who freely admits what he doesn’t know but gives valuable history (always tending to contradict the spin) and MAKES HYPOTHESES, saying he is not certain but that this is his theory.

His main advice is that a lot of what we see is fake - a movie - and, while we can theorise, we need to wait till the movie is over before we make solid conclusions.

This is 40 mins long, so not too time-consuming, and he speaks in a clear style that stimulates the thinking rather than putting you to sleep or boring your pants off.

Mike King is a historian who has done a lot of work, as well as on 20th Century “non-fake” history in general, on the Q drops. However he is far from being a Q or MAGA fundamentalist. NZ HERO DR BERNARD CONLON NEEDS SUPPORT IN ROTORUA ON MARCH 9

Supporters are welcomed next week to be there for NZ hero Dr Bernard Conlon who will appear before the tribunal at a hearing beginning March 9 at the Arawa Park in Rotorua.

Long-serving Murupara GP Dr Bernard Conlon says he is relieved a long-delayed Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal hearing will finally go ahead, bringing what he hopes will be closure after five years.

Conlon will appear before the tribunal at a hearing beginning March 9 at the Arawa Park in Rotorua. The hearing, originally expected to take place in 2024, was postponed.

Two complaints were made against him in 2021. In 2022, he was suspended for four months in relation to his views on the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine. The upcoming tribunal will determine whether he can retain his practising certificate.

“I am weary of it,” Conlon said this week. “I would have preferred to have just quietly got closure and put it all behind, but that is obviously not to be.

“I want to clear my reputation. I want it over with.”

Conlon has practised medicine in Murupara for 35 years and said the drawn-out process has taken a toll – not only on him, but on the wider community.

“The reality is the community has been through a lot. They lost me, their doctor, just before Covid, when I was suspended for four months. And it was a pretty scary time for them. And now this.”

Supporters – including patients – are expected to attend the Rotorua hearing.

Conlon said he had sought to have the hearing moved to Rangitahi Marae in Murupara to make it easier for local people to attend, but that request was declined.

“I would have preferred that they not be put to the expense of travelling into Rotorua,” he said.

He noted that witnesses giving evidence against him had been permitted to appear remotely at their request.
