BEAN ME UP CAFE UPDATE
On Tuesday, we caught up with Holly & Hannah, the daughters of Sharon Gertrude.
Sharon, owner of the Bean Me Up Cafe in Kaikลura, was sentenced on December 2, on two charges under the Food Act 2014 brought by the Kaikลura District Council.
The charges were knowingly selling non-complying food and failing to comply with a notice of direction under the Food Act 2014.
Sharon is currently serving her sentence in Christchurch Women's Prison and is due for release on December 28, if people are interested in supporting her.
On Monday, the Council again visited the cafe, and as a result, it will remain closed until further notice.
We look forward to catching up with Sharon to hear her story when she is free.
Sharon has been a huge supporter of the freedom movement and anyone who needed a safe space during "Covid-19".

We now know that the US Government, through the FBI, was able to request Twitter to take down posts they didnโt like. With the release of the Twitter Files recently, itโs now official that the US Government colluded with major social media to manipulate public perception. We now know that the US Government, through the FBI, was able to request Twitter to take down posts they didnโt like. This is not only a violation of the American First Amendment, but contravenes the very spirit of free speech laws.

GOLF CLUB APPEAL DECISION TO PAY OUT $30K
Yesterday CSM was informed that the Whangamata Golf Club is appealing a recent Employment Relations Authority ruling, after Frontline Law received paperwork from the club's employment consultant.
The club was ordered to pay former employee Benjamin Harwood approximately $30k after his lawyer argued that their employment policy was "unreasonable and unfair" & failed to fairly consider alternatives to dismissal.
Harwood, whose roles included professional golf coach & director of golf, told us that as a result of not getting jabbed, he was dismissed, despite giving them plenty of alternatives to satisfy health & safety concerns.
Harwood's lawyer Victor Corbett said the club has limited grounds of appeal - nor have they identified any in their application.
They intend on fully defending the appeal with a view to reconfirm the Authority's ruling.
