Press Release
Today on the 21st January the Turkish state has bombed multiple times on the action of the civilian society at the Tishreen Dam, causing serious injures and in this moment more and more people are losing their lives as a result of the attacks.
Also more than 4 journalists suffered injuries from the attacks. They were present at the moment of the attacks because they wanted to be witnesses so that they could tell the world about the war crimes that Turkey continues to commit.
Constantly during this morning there were bombings around the dam. This afternoon Turkey made airstrikes on the people while they were dancing outside.
These are targeted attacks, we need to analyze carefully the strategy of the Turkish state. From the first day of the action at the Tishreen Dam, on 8 January, the Turkish state has been trying to stop the people with bombings from drones and fighter jets. People who have come there to protect it from destruction and to protest the attacks.
It is the responsibility of all the press to spread the truth and to tell to the world about the continuous breaking of international law that the Turkish state is committing through violation of human rights, ecological destruction and war crimes.
We are close to 26 January, the day of the anniversary of the liberation of Kobane. The city that fought against and defeated the islamist militias of ISIS in 2014. It is not a coincidence that the Turkish state has chosen this time to attack. It wants to tarnish the history of resistance and values that this region and these city represent.
We cannot allow these immoral attacks to go unreported. We cannot remain silent. Sharing the right information at this time plays a crucial role in stopping this massacre and not allowing these crimes to be repeated and continue.
We call on all journalist to not stay silent on these situation and report what is happening here.
We call on all journalists to come here, to bear witness to the crimes of the Turkish state and report for themselves what we are resisting day by day.

🌹Interview: We Were Like Comrades!
Today on the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Şehid Zîn we commemorate with the family and we share this interview, about a mother whose daughter fell Martyr.
She is explaining how her daughter grew up and joined the YPJ. As she describes her relationship with her daughter she says "We were like comrades."

It was great for us. In Rojava, everyone united—Armenians, Arabs, Kurds, and Syriacs. Here in Rojava, we live in better conditions, calmer and safely.
For example, compared to Aleppo or Damascus, where they lived in horrible conditions, there’s a big difference. Therefore, we are happy to live here, where our people have freedom."

📢 We Are Tishreen: Join the action days for Kobanê and Tishreen!
From the protest camp at the Tishrin Dam in Rojava, North-East Syria we call on all the youth organizations, socialists, antifascists, ecologist, women’s movements and everyone that stands against war to speak up to the war crimes being committed by the Turkish state on the Tishreen Dam and to start actions to stop the attacks.
The action to protect the Tishrin dam is not only in North-East Syria but has to spread everywhere! We call on everyone to join the action day on the 25th and 26th and together we will bring an end to the attacks on the Tishreen dam!

The youth of North-East Syria stands in solidarity with the struggling people of Balochistan
The people of Balochistan have announced the 25th of January as the “Baloch Genocide Day”. This day is a symbol of the atrocities that the Baloch people face by the Pakistani state as well as for the struggle for justice, identity and existence of the Baloch people. The people of Balochistan and Kurdistan are connected in their suffering as well in their struggle. As a symbol of this connection, representatives of the Democratic Youth Council of Syria, Nadiya Yousef and Nasser Nasero, extended their solidarity for the Baloch people through a video message.
