Update on Mainnet Runtime Upgrade – Ensuring a Secure Path Forward
Dear Cere Community,
On November 22, 2023, Cere's Blockchain team executed a runtime upgrade for mainnet via referenda, which updated the runtime substrate version to 0.9.30. These types of updates are part of a continuous process to keep Cere's mainnet up to standard with the latest substrate version. However, with each substrate version, there is a risk of incompatibility. With the latest upgrade, we are facing such compatibility challenges with our bridge, which causes the bridge to fail when decoding events coming out of substrate. These incompatibilities are currently being investigated and fixed. However, we'd like to assure our Cere users that all funds are completely safe. Once those issues are fixed, your locked funds will be unlocked and the bridge request will be processed as expected. There is no action required for the users. As soon as the bridge is fixed, we'll send another update.
