Today Pavel Durov - a founder of Telegram - has announced that he will “block Telegram for the sides of the conflict in case of escalations”. A bit later he pulled back.

However, this is a very concerning statement. If Mr. Durov is indeed supports the ideas of feedom and liberal thinking, he would never even have such thought in the first place.

What does it mean for CatOps, though? Telegram is still our main platform for news and conversations. But as true DevOps / Platform / Infra / SRE / SysAdmin people, we always think about backups.

These are “cold backups” for now. It means that there is no content at the moment. However, we already a place for migration if it’s necessary. So:

- CatOps sub-reddit - there is no content here for now
- CatOps on Discord - there’s is nothing there either

Both platforms are just backups! However, if we need to move, we’re ready!
