Last week, cops entered and began to clear cut the Weelaunee forest in Atlanta, GA, USA. Activists (known as forest defenders) have built defensive structures and squatted the forest for over a year in order to prevent this from happening. The forest, nicknamed the "Lungs of Atlanta" for the essential role it plays in the area's climate resilience, is due to be cleared to make space for #CopCity - a brutal, highly militarized cop training center. We as EG Bremen show solidarity with the brave activists in Georgia, who are facing massive state and police repression.
