Former Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Celia Flores, are set to appear in a Manhattan courtroom today for the next stage of their high-profile criminal case. Maduro faces four criminal charges after U.S. forces captured him in Caracas during a January raid.

Prosecutors accuse Maduro of running Venezuela as a drug trafficking organization for 25 years. A trial is expected to begin in June 2027, and if convicted, both Maduro and Flores could face life in prison.
