Harasztosi and Linder (2019) look at a large minimum wage increase in Hungary holistically, considering the effects on employment, consumer costs, firm profits, etc. they find that about 10% of workers affected by the increase lost their jobs. 90% saw an increase in wages, but consumers paid 75% of it through higher prices, and owners paid 25% of it through lower profits. The effect is much higher for companies able to pass the cost onto consumers, e.g. food workers.

Plus the whole letter is just a red herring. It’s essentially saying that since other experts believe that Trump should be convicted, senators should view that as a foregone conclusion for Trump’s conviction. And you should believe that the experts are acting impartially as well! This is why no one takes academia seriously anymore.
