One of the greatest figures of electronic/fusion/film music of 20-th century - VANGELIS - died on May 17th, 2022.
A huge loss for the culture.

It took us two years to record this composition and make video. The heart was full of pain but we were continuing doing this thing. We still believe in Humanity. With full Love and Compasion... This is the only Way for the Human- to become something wiser, bigger than just Homo Sapiens...

My friend Alexander Matchugovsky published a "capture" video with two tunes written by me about 25 years ago under the underground scene nickname “Tangerine” on a very-very old computer platform Commodore Amiga (really popular in late 1980 - early 1990s). Unlike PC or Mac, it had a built-in own stereo digital sound chip from as early as the the year 1984. One could use only 4 channels of low fi 8-bit digital sound on this computer, i.e. 4 sound samples played at one time. No “effects” like reverb. All sound was completely “dry”. Still, in comparison to PC beeper, it was something to use for music. Music programs were called "sound trackers" and later evolved to full featured workstation software. On Amiga, we “packed” tiny digital samples with chords, rhythm, bass and melody in these 4 channels = 4 "notes" = 4 instrumental parts, or as many as you can have in one sound sample. The actual sequence editor's interface also didn’t look like a music score, more like an Excel table or a low level machine code.

Очень рад этому сотрудничеству. Радость встречи сопряжена с горьким, глубоко болезненным ощущением утраты мира, в котором, кажется, многие из нас еще недавно жили и творили, и который теперь ощущается как иллюзорный.
Понимаю, что это сегодняшнее сотрудничество - в значительной мере результат стечения обстоятельств. Познакомились с А. М. благодаря проекту Lev Etin (песня группы Океан Эльзи в переводе на иврит - тоже только что вышла!). Для артиста невозможно просто так покинуть место, где осталась почти вся жизнь, и не относиться к происходящему там. Мне лично оказалось очень близко мироощущение, переданное в этой песне. Первая новость из России за невероятно долгое время, которую можно назвать хорошей. Правда, сам контекст и история настолько чудовищны и уродливы, что тут нужно какое-то другое слово.
