Here is another abstract drone-ambient harp experience from the Negev desert.
I consider this music as a deep trance texture, relevant for relaxation and meditation practices, whatever goes with it.

Tech notes.
Both video and audio in the clip are digitally transformed: the video is in super slow-motion, and the audio is pitch-shifted and time-stretched. There are three layers of sound in the mix - one is the original "singing" of the harp triggered by wind, and another two layers are the same sample, just reproduced octave and two octaves down. The reverb plugin used in production is Rob Papen's RPVERB.

Сегодня стало известно о смерти великого музыканта Ryuichi Sakamoto. В качестве персональных поминок по сенсею электронной музыки я слушал Yellow Magic Orchestra, которые и так часто и без всякого повода включаю себе на велосипеде или дома на кухне - просто для хорошего настроения. Теперь слушать эти жизнеутверждающие мелодии станет чуть грустнее, более одиноко. Грустно, потому что пока маэстро был жив, ощущалась некая недосказанность, возможность продолжения "разговора". Не в смысле, что он услышит мои восторги, а что он сам еще что-то скажет своей музыкой, искусством. Сакамото в 71 год не был одним из тех артистов, о которых уже давно понятно, что они "всё сказали", нет. Насколько мне известно, он интенсивно работал до самых последних дней, и его новые записанные проекты будут продолжать выходить (в том числе в качестве живых виртуальных выступлений) в ближайшие годы.

This specific copy might be illegal, but the movie itself is super important for just anyone who is interested in electronic music, modern art and its history. Also important is that the film is made by women and about women, all through the feminist perspective. The footage, full of rare and unique episodes, interviews, and, obviously, soundtrack, are highly inspiring. I really enjoyed watching it.

Wow, Unknown Mortal Orchestra live on Tiny Desk. I really like the band and the Tiny Desk concept. Here U.M.O. - an electronic music project, as I heard some previous albums of the band - created something close to the 68's Beatles vibe! Sounds both fresh and retro to me.

A bit of music therapy for the tired ear of a musician/producer/sound engineer. No painful cutting of takes, no "auto"-tune and other modern «entertainment». The band comes to the stage, plays, and that’s it - recorded, filmed... A small detail: the recording is really live, and not a «lipsync» as it was customary at that time on TV. And all this they play without floor monitors! It seems to me, the singer has a light wire from the headphones in her hair. Working with in-ear system in 1972!
