Today, demonstrators in San Pablo, California took action against a proposed 43 million dollar police militarization facility.

Across the spectrum, politicians aim to weather the ecological and economic crises ahead of us by using brute force to control the desperate and displaced, pouring public resources into militarizing the police. The fight to #StopCopCity in Atlanta is part of a worldwide struggle over our future.

Since far-right pundits are spreading alarmism about it, this is as good a time as any to direct your attention to our guide to organizing in affinity groups.

https://crimethinc.com/affinitygroup

"Getting organized doesn’t mean joining a pre-existing institution and taking orders. It shouldn’t mean forfeiting your agency and intelligence to become a cog in a machine. From an anarchist perspective, organizational structure should maximize both freedom and voluntary coordination at every level of scale, from the smallest group up to society as a whole.

"You and your friends already constitute an affinity group, the essential building block of this model. An affinity group is a circle of friends who understand themselves as an autonomous political force. The idea is that people who already know and trust each other should work together to respond immediately, intelligently, and flexibly to emerging situations."
South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas, was at the annual fash fest of soccer, the Australian-Croatian soccer tournament. This year it was held at the Croatian Sports Centre in Gepps Cross, home of the Adelaide Raiders soccer club and fascist sympathizers like its president Juli Čirjak.

To this day many in the Australian-Croatian community either downright deny the role the Ustase had in the Holocaust or actively celebrate it. The Croatian Sports Centre and its clubs the Adelaide Croatia Raiders and Vukovi SC are no different.

And Labor has given them legitimacy and funding through official visits and grants. It’s worth noting that Peter Malinauskas during May in response to an XR protest that blocked some road traffic for a few hours the same day he introduced with bipartisan support the most extreme of the new draconian anti protest laws which can result in fines up to $50,000 and possible three-month jail terms where a person β€œintentionally or recklessly obstructs the free passage of a public place”

This Saturday at the State Library 1pm in Naarm:

The role of an antifascist is not exclusively to embarrass cosplay Hitler youth rejects publicly, we must also show solidarity with those systematically oppressed by a colonialist white supremacist state on the unceded Kulin Nation land we occupy.

First Nations people have long been violently subjected to the militarised police and state powers.

Stop Blak deaths in custody and reject the colony.

Stay hydrated, wear a covid safe mask and move in groups.

Always was, always will be

πŸ”₯ Arson Attack in Solidarity with the Prison Struggle in Athens, Greece

We claim responsibility for the arson of a vehicle belonging to the municipality of Kaisariani (a town in eastern Athens) at midnight on September 26th in an aggressive display of solidarity with the struggle that prisoners all over Greece have been fighting for the last month against the new law announced by the Minister of Justice Florides and the arbitrary actions of the prosecutor’s office of Lamia.

The government being in a panic, unable to manage the crises that have arisen immediately after its re-election, tries to satisfy its conservative audience by attacking the prisoners once again, knowing that the wider society is permanently apathetic towards them.
Backlash is a digital community for Indigenous, ecological and anti-fascist resistance within the territory occupied by the Australian state. Our mission is to provide a platform to promote revolutionary theory and action.

What We Do

We publish original content alongside anonymous submissions

Information is drawn from published sources, both independent and corporate media; corrections are welcomed.

We also put an emphasis on encouraging groups and activists to publicise and theorise their actions on this site, through the form of posts, interviews and analysis.

What We Do not Do

As a media platform, Backlash does not take responsibility for planning or coordinating protests or actions. Instead, we focus on highlighting and amplifying the efforts of those who are already organizing such events in their local communities.

We do not advocate or promote violence or non-violence as a means of achieving goals. We hold great respect for the efforts of local organisers and their understanding of the circumstances they encounter.

Who is Backlash?

Backlash,
is a slogan for anonymous direct action. It is not a group with membership, but a mouthpiece to amplify incidents that shatter, however briefly, the myth of consensus & social peace. Anyone could be Backlash. β€” it could be your next-door neighbor or the person sitting behind you on the train. You and your friends already form an affinity group, the structure best suited for militant direct action.

Contact and send submissions to
[email protected] or t.iss.one/BacklashContactBot

Keep in mind anything posted on Backlash will be read by friends and enemies.

Ever wonder where our cover photo for our blog came from?

It’s actually a photo of people outside parliament house during the 1996 Invasion of the Australian parliament.

On Monday 19th August, a demonstration in Canberra, Australia, turned into an occupation of that country's Parliament building. The demonstartion was called by the ACTU, the official union organisation. Their response was predictable and once again showed how thoroughly union organisations have been incorporated into capitalism's system of social control.

The rally was 25,000 strong despite it not being an official strike day, and about 10% of this tried to get into the Parliament. Police blocked the way and things turned nasty. Battering rams were used by Construction workers to bash in the glass doors and people streamed into the building over the tops of one another. There were several injuries to both protesters and police and 50 or so arrests. The media of course called the action thuggery, the Labor Party and top union officials distanced themselves from the action

The following article comprises a series of accounts from eye-witnesses who participated in the eventsx of the day, plus a couple of background pieces from other sources in Australia. All these accounts were obtained off the Internet.
