These official Russian MoD stats for the last 24 hours are very interesting in terms of how well the special military operation is going. They claim that Russian air defense shot down:
- 7 guided aerial bombs
- 17 long-range Flamingo cruise missiles
- 4 HIMARS rockets
- 1,328 fixed-wing UAVs
For comparison, on one of the busiest days of spring 2022, the Russian MoD claimed to have intercepted 4 Tochka-U ballistic missiles (non-replenishable inherited Soviet stocks with a 120 km range) and destroyed 5 drones.
In other words, Putin has transformed Ukraine from a country barely able to attack Russia at all into a country with one of the largest domestic productions of long-range strike assets, allowing it to launch large-scale attacks daily against targets hundreds or thousands of kilometers inside Russia.

A new campaign ad for Putin
Gasoline has vanished in Krasnodar Krai. We drove out to the sea in Anapa and were totally stunned. 90% of the gas stations along the highway and in town are closed, and those that are open have horrific traffic jams.
Right from our window in Anapa, you can see a Gazprom station. The line leading to it stretches for three city blocks. The atmosphere is tense because smart alecks keep trying to cut the line. Cossack patrols are even stationed at the gas stations [to maintain order].
Just out of curiosity, while walking back from the beach, we noted a specific car waiting in line. It was nowhere near the back of the queue. 4 hours later, we went out for a walk, and that car had only moved forward by one block. Overall, the average waiting time in this queue is at least 6 to 7 hours.
