Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya -may Allah have mercy on him- said,

Five things corrupt the heart:

- Excessive socialization;

- Sailing on a sea of wishes;

- Attaching one's heart to parties other than Allah;

- Excessive eating;

- Excessive sleep.

Their love is not for the enemy himself, but for his enmity to their enemy (İslam).

وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَـٰكُمْ أُمَّةًۭ وَسَطًۭا لِّتَكُونُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًۭا ۗ

And so We have made you ˹believers˺ an upright community so that you may be witnesses over humanity and that the Messenger may be a witness over you.

(Quran 2:143)

{أَفَحُكْمَ ٱلْجَـٰهِلِيَّةِ يَبْغُونَ ۚ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ حُكْمًۭا لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُوقِنُونَ}

Is it a judgment of the time of (pagan) ignorance that they are seeking? Who is better than Allah for judgment to a people who have certainty (in their belief)?
