Pip in a Nutshell✅

In the financial markets, a pip is a point in percentage – the smallest standard value by which a currency pair can change. For the majority of pairs – a pip is the fourth digit after the decimal point.

Example:
Let’s say EUR/USD is 1.1245 (so for 1 euro you can buy 1.1245 dollars). In this case, a 1-pip increase in the quote to 1.1246 would mean that 1 euro is worth comparatively more dollars.💲

It’s wise to note that the value of each pip is determined by the currency pair and the trade size in question. A trader’s profit/loss is calculated by multiplying the number of pips that the price went in their favour/against them by the specific pip value.

➡️Pip in decimal places * Trade size in units = Pip value in term currency (in example above - USD)
➡️Pip in decimal places * Trade size in units / exchange rate = Pip value in base currency (in example above - EUR)

ALGA Q2 Results📣

Time flies when you are hard at work. The second quarter of the year is already behind us and we think it’s time to check in with a fresh update! What have we been up to in Q2?

We have:

✅ Applied for official moderation of the ALGA app in AppStore & Google Play stores
✅ Introduced a new, super-quick mechanism for calculating the cost of each index
✅ Introduced a referral program in the beta version of the ALGA platform – currently testing
✅ Improved the UX of the ALGA mobile platform
✅ Prepped indexes with new mechanisms In the alpha version of the ALGA platform
✅ Added new indexes: AlgaGS, AlgaVE, AlgaBR, KOL CryptoTiger & KOL Cryptostudent
✅ Began preparing KYC authorization for the platform. Already half way done!

Dark pools are private forums or exchanges, where securities are traded among selected financial institutions, exchanges and significant investors. Their main function is to help institutional investors conduct large trades without immediate public exposure.☝️

The anonymity of dark pools helps prevent large orders from influencing market prices adversely. For instance, if an institutional investor needs to sell many shares, doing so in a public exchange could signal to the market that this stock might be overvalued. By concealing the order until it is executed, dark pools mitigate such market impact, helping maintain price stability and asset value. Furthermore, dark pools help manage market risk associated with the time lag in executing large-volume trades.🟩

Nevertheless, the lack of transparency in dark pools raises concern regarding the conflict of interest and true intentions of key market players.

EBITDAR in a Nutshell✅

EBITDAR is the abbreviation for Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, Amortization, and Rent.☝️

EBITDAR is not affected by financing decisions, the tax structure, and non-cash items (e.g. depreciation, amortization), just like EBITDA. However, for EBITDAR, the effects of rent costs and any non-recurring items such as restructuring charges are also removed.
