The 52-week range is a historical measure of the highest and lowest prices that a stock has traded for in the past 52 weeks (a year).

The 52-week range is calculated by taking the highest price that a stock has traded for in the past 52 weeks and subtracting the lowest price. For instance, if a stock has traded for a high of $150 and a low of $100 in the past 52 weeks, its 52-week range would be 50.📊

Value-at-risk is a statistical measure of the riskiness of financial entities or portfolios of assets.💼

It is defined as the maximum dollar amount expected to be lost over a given time horizon, at a pre-defined confidence level. For example, if the 95% one-month VAR is $1 million, there is 95% confidence that over the next month the portfolio will not lose more than $1 million.💲

VaR doesn’t provide details on losses when there is a breach, making it potentially unreliable in certain situations.
