🧮 How much Telegram earns — latest statistics

Revenue in 2023 was $342.5 million, and in 2022 - $228 million. It turns out that it has grown by 50%. At the same time, Telegram is unprofitable. In 2023, the operating loss was $108 million, which is much better than 2022, when the operating loss was $201 million. Most of the costs go to development and user support. And over the year, this amount has hardly changed — $394.4 million in 2022 and $397 million in 2023.

Now the most interesting thing is how Telegram earns money:

As the FT notes, about 40% of Telegram's revenue comes from the crypt. At the same time, it can be noted that revenues from the sale of nicknames, etc., have fallen quite significantly. And the revenue from the integrated wallet is, as I understand it, how much The Open Network Foundation pays Telegram for the wallet to be integrated into the messenger interface.

And about assets. According to the reports, Telegram has assets of $958 million ($762 million in 2022). It is interesting here that digital assets (tokens, etc.) have increased 4 times — by almost $400 million, that is, 42% of everything. But the cache is much smaller — $170 million ($349 million in 2022).

How will Telegram buy back $2.3 billion worth of bonds? So far, apparently, it will not be possible to do this at their own expense.
