A given element of the ageless – One can only wonder at Nietzsche's English cosmopolitanism. The creeping stench of the industrial enclosure cannot be separated from his efforts, if only as a result. "Statistics." At times it is hard to tell if he wants a victory garden, or simply interest gutted from the lifeless construction. Or if he simply does not want.
Whatever you do, when you go to Nietzsche do not bring a history, a law, an economics. Whatever you do, feel – and only against what has already been felt. Go against the streams, against continents – land and sea. Against all forces. This is your will. And do not think yourself an English peasant in foreign lands, whatever you do. Do not think this.
For this is the feeling that leaves all feeling behind. The feeling behind all striving to act.
In the end, this is what is achieved in the great obsession, a not bringing, a will of austerity over everything else; of ought over is – the ultimate imprinting upon of foreign soils. Equally a Pole awaiting ruination, and a Brit demanding liquidation. Yes, time itself disappears – for the will too.
Of course, in the end, within that impossible thing – the Britons visited upon the Germans everything he had demanded. Everything demanded, every last thing, is given a will. This is already in Berkeley; if less in Churchill, Hobbes, Caesar.
And then, time returns.

Against Nietzsche: greater intelligence tests. And we add poetic form for the doubtful.

Ernst Jünger said that a man who has fallen for two women is caught in a dilemma like that of Solomon's judgement: he will have to decide for the woman who will not tear him apart. The question of gender arises when this position is no longer possible for men, but the situation is no less destructive for women – both make a unique sacrifice for a union, and without it they will have to introduce new concessions. Without great power and the weight of decision both male and female are left to tear themselves apart.
One is returned to Aristophanes' myth of the original man.

A dilemma for Cleary. Fichte was one of the first nationalist philosophers.

Here, all distinction is lost, Fichte would have to be held responsible for both nationalism and wokeism.
Such judgements are like the decisions of the world court declaring ideas as criminal, then reverting the position without granting amnesty. As an ongoing act of neutralisation a new criminality is sought and found, as if an automatic power stands above all decision, guiding the limits of men.

"People are way too fixated on Nietzsche."

What strikes me in Nietzsche's comments on Herder is the debt he owes. There are many passages where he is clearly responding to Herder, and he reveals himself as the inferior thinker.
Herder's weakness was falling into rationalism against an opponent; for Nietzsche, all time.

The servants of law. An infinite 'facticity', limitation, non-abstraction, can only remain bound where there is absolute judgement, a violence of law that can return a nation, in a moment, to "black-clouded darkness".
Non coerceri maximo, contineri minimo, divinum est.

(Not to be confined by the greatest, yet to be contained by the smallest, is divine.)

Socratic ignorance and Nietzschean polemics are lost arts. In between the two, where their efforts can be approached but without offense, is where we find the new sophistry.

Here we should recall Plato's political myth of the titans. As analogy, as it is used today, the myth of the titans loses power. It remains, however, a memory of the Golden Age, of absolute being.
The Übermensch strives for completion, to give form to the uncanny wheelwork.

As a center, as a regrounding of pure power, the Übermensch becomes a target for the rising titans, or the giants who precede them.
This is, paradoxically, where Nietzsche returns to Christianity.

There can be a morality of violence, but no morality of force. Strength and power find distinction here.

The irony here is that Nietzsche himself remains fixed on what still remains veiled, or what has been discarded.
Every difference between Hamann and Nietzsche is in these two passages.

The Eternal Return first appears in the myth of Laelaps and the Teumessian Fox.

Perspectivism is not only an assault upon truth, it is a gigantic defense. An eternity of positions is propped up to ensure that they can only ever be confronted head-on. Nietzsche fears the flanking position, the enemy's reinforcements, the pénétration pacifique. He constructs a Terracotta Army to defend himself from all sides.
