Custom rom community will die if we all rely on gapps. let's think together for some moment, is it really worth the hard working to only get device level integrity?
We all can use vanilla version of every ROM and be happy asf, there's no integrity and shit you'll be in complete peace, there's no bloat ware and there's no goolag app that consumes your ram for absolute no use at all.

AOSP which is Android *Open Source* Project will always stay open source. Even if AOSP gets separated from google it stays open source but doesn't make sense to release pixels source codes along AOSP.
Don't listen to GrapheneOS, thats only made for Pixel devices and they are saying those because the pixel trees and kernels are not tracked in the latest release's manifest of Android anymore.
