These politicians are more concerned about appealing to this incessant obsession with wokeness. Under this law, crime such as aggravated batteries, robberies, burglaries, aggravated DUIs, vehicular homicide, drug-induced homicide, all drug offenses including delivery of fentanyl in trafficking cases, are NOT ELIGIBLE FOR DETENTION NO MATTER THE SEVERITY OF THE CRIME.
They even had the audacity to call this the "safety act." If you thought things were bad now... January in Illinois is about to get "mostly peaceful."

PAYPAL'S OBJECTIONABLE TERMS ARE BACK — $2500 FINES REINSTATED FOR CONTENT THEY DON'T LIKE
Two weeks ago Paypal introduced language into its terms and conditions that allowed them to withdraw $2500 from your account for each time they believed you “promot[ed] misinformation” or you sent, posted or published “messages, content, or materials that, in PayPal’s sole discretion, (a) are harmful, obscene, harassing, or objectionable.”
If they deemed you to promote messages they objected to 10 times, or to have spread misinformation (in their sole discretion) 10 times, they could take $25,000 from your account. If your PayPal balance was $0 they presumably could withdraw funds from your linked accounts. They pulled the language after public backlash calling it a mistake, but it was a very specific mistake not an errant comma.
It seems they waited 2 weeks for the attention to die down before putting the policy back into the terms. [ Article ]

PENTAGON: U.S. TO SCRAP SEA-LAUNCHED NUCLEAR MISSILE PROGRAM
During the Trump administration, the Pentagon made a decision in 2018 to develop a new nuclear-armed, sea-launched cruise missile, with a focus on the threat from Russia. But the Biden administration said in its review that the sea-launched cruise missile program was unnecessary.
The documents (pdf), released on Oct. 27, stated that the United States will “retire the B83-1 gravity bomb,” and will “cancel the nuclear-armed Sea-Launched Cruise Missile (SLCM-N) program.”
During a news conference, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin faced questions about retiring the two programs, arguing that “our inventory of nuclear weapons is significant.”...“I do not believe this sends a message to Putin,” Austin told a reporter. “He understands what our capability is.” [ Article ]

I urge Facebook to come to its senses, accept responsibility, apologize for its conduct, and comply with the law. If Facebook refuses to do this, we will beat them again in court.”

The singer-turned-rapper and actor was found dead Saturday at his house in Lancaster, CA ... multiple sources tell us Aaron's body was found in his bathtub. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they received a 911 call at 11 AM Saturday that a male had drowned in the tub.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... homicide detectives have been dispatched to the scene, but we have no information or evidence of foul play. It's standard operating procedure for homicide detectives to investigate such death scenes.
Aaron had tons of legal and substance abuse issues over the years ... infamously going on "The Doctors" a couple years ago and talking about all the pills he was taking. He also went to rehab numerous times.
AC is survived by his son, Prince. He was only 34. [ Article ]
