The vicious, shameful, and undignified president of Columbia University, Minouche Shafik, has sent an email declaring the imminent: NYPD has been authorized to sweep the encampment and engage in mass arrests. Arrests are now underway. We ask that those who are willing to remain stay in support and witness.

Students inside Columbia are standing strong as they continue flooding campus by the thousands‼️🇵🇸

Despite having arrested tens of student organizers and disposing of their belongings in bins, including perishables and technology, students remain, and have now occupied the opposite lawn.

We encourage our people to join, stay, and hold this space as a community. Comrades also remain outside the gates protesting in solidarity.

The operation to attack Columbia students and destroy the Gaza Solidarity Encampment was called on by the first Arab president of the University, Manoushe Shafik, in coordination with the Cop mayor of NYC, Eric Adams, overseen by the first Latino commissioner of the NYPD, Edward Caban, alongside Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry, Chief of Patrol (and killer cop) John Chell, and Manhattan North Assistant Chief Ruel Stephenson (the four of which are photographed). All to attack a diverse coalition of students standing against genocide in Palestine.
