The toy maker Klaus is an enchanted character and it means many things, which are in the purity of the arctic blast. Reindeers, elfs, magical beings, the fact that everyone gets the present that he or she deserves, the dispelling of evil through magic... all powerfull ideas guarded by these archetypes. Jack Frost is the first of them who has the audacity to fight the evil through the propelment of joy, by making kids believe in Christmas through the icy slopes and snow fights and snow man, the joyfull time of being a kid in the snow. In my area I know that Ponderosa is *not* good to use. I think perhaps also Lodge Pole and some others are not good to use, but they aren’t around here so I did not pay close attention to what was not local.

Eastern White Pine and Scotch Pine can both be used afaik. Scotch Pine makes an especially tasty tea IMO.

Douglas Fir is neither a true fir nor a pine, but is prevalent in my area and was used by local Indian people and was a vitamin C source afaik.
