A US appeals court has rejected Venezuela's offer to block six companies from joining a judicial auction of shares of a parent company of Citgo Petroleum.

According to Reuters, the auction seeks to enforce sentences for expropriation of assets that occurred in the past. The court's decision would authorize six companies to proceed with their lawsuits worth about $3 billion against Venezuela's state oil company PDVSA in federal court in Delaware
